Sparkle & Shine With Park Lane

slidesxmasMy husband and I have a long running joke that isn’t nearly as funny to me as it is to him these past five years or so. You see, after a failed attempt at a jewelry gift for Christmas one year (that I returned) he declared that he wouldn’t buy me jewelry again. Ever.

The joke is that he thinks it bothers me. The punchline is that I buy my own jewelry now and thank him when he gets the bill.

The price of jewelry doesn’t entirely matter to me – I can wear a super-inexpensive piece of jewelry from a store in the mall for a few months until it breaks and carry on with the next purchase. Or, I can purchase more expensive jewelry and know that it will last for years, especially if it comes with a warranty. You’d think the frugal part of me would prefer the mall stuff. Not so – it frustrates me to have a piece of jewelry break (even if it cost less than $20) because replacing it then doubles the price, takes time out of my day, and in most cases it isn’t available anymore to replace.

New to Canada, Park Lane is a company that has won me over because of 3 things:
1) Their pricing program makes purchasing jewelry at a party or through your rep affordable.
2) Their warranty plan understands your jewelry is in investment and respects your loyalty as a customer – if your item breaks, they’ll replace it!
3) I get compliments when I wear the jewelry – maybe a selfish reason, but hey Park Lane jewelry stands out!

There are three ways you can purchase Park Lane this holiday season (and beyond):

1) You can attend a party the next time you’re invited (the best way to shop because you can see the jewelry ON which is so different than flipping through a catalog.
2) You can host your own party through a local consultant and earn free jewelry for yourself.
3) You can shop through the online catalog.

Shopping via the online catalog isn’t the ideal way to purchase Park Lane because if you’re like me, you may dismiss an item in the catalog simply because you can’t see, touch, and obviously wear it. But, if you’re running against a deadline and need a gift idea for someone hard to buy for (mothers in law strike me as being at the top of that list for many), someone you want to spoil a little (your sister, babysitter, or best friend) or perhaps just something for yourself (from Santa of course), here are my top picks this holiday season (these are all items I personally own from Park Lane too):
park lake awaken bracelet

The Awaken Bracelet is $49, available in hemetite or copper is stretchy so it can fit almost anyone.  I love this piece, and can wear it with anything (even yoga pants and a tee, it works!)

park lane intermix necklace

The Intermix necklace ($76) takes me back to the chunky charm bracelets and necklaces I wore years ago – and it’s actually both!  The charms are actually looped in on a separate bracelet so you could conceivably take it off and wear it as a bracelet too.  I, however, love it just the way it is!

Intermix earrings

I loved the Intermix necklace so much, I had to get the earrings too!  Also? These Intermix earrings ($29) reminded me way too much of Madonna’s Like a Virgin days not to get them.

Glam & Go NecklaceI went outside my comfort zone with this piece, but loved seeing it on at the party I went to, and know that when I do wear it, I actually look like I have it together. Layering my jewelry isn’t a skill I’m good at (or think I’m good at) but when it can be done for me? I must have it!  Glam & Go Necklace is $137.

My taste in jewelry isn’t very “out-there” or loud.  My friend Crystal, an amazing Park Lane consultant and guru of all things jewelry, can pull off a chunky Park Lane necklace, layer it with another necklace, and then add a pair of earrings for effortless style.  So, if being a little more bold in your choices than those presented here is what appeals to you, Park Lane definitely has that look nailed.

You can connect with Crystal locally here in Saskatchewan on her website here (with links to Twitter and Facebook as well), though you can order across Canada from her and ship to your friends and family as well – as long as your order is in before December 10th!  If Santa needs a little nudge this holiday season, simply check out the Park Lane website, write down your jewelry choices, and point Santa in Crystal’s direction – she’ll take care of the rest!
