With the holidays coming, Rowenta has a helpful list of things NOT to give your vacuum for Christmas! It’s actually a really great reminder of things to keep off the floors. The last thing someone needs during the holidays with a houseful of guests is a broken vacuum cleaner, yikes!
If you’re preparing for a full house this holiday season, make sure you are prepared! Yes, having some holiday baking prepared is always a good start (do you need my mailing address?) but I’m talking about ensuring you have supplies on hand (fluffy towels please!) including cleaning appliances that make for quick and easy cleaning. Who wants to be cleaning when Santa’s in town anyway? The less time spent on it, the better!
I’m a busy mom (understatement of the year) and I need products that are efficient, effective, and with as little fuss as possible. That means, in terms of quick clean ups (which, let’s face it, is the only way I clean these days) I need something that’s quick and easy to use.
For this reason, everything about the Rowenta Delta Force Extreme Lithium 25V appeals to me:
- Great on both carpeting and bare floors, the cordless, bagless, lightweight, and easy to use Delta Force Extreme Lithium 25.2-Volt Stick Vacuum by Rowenta will make cleaning day go by easier and faster
- Offers 3 speed settings
- Vacuum cleaning path width: 10″
- 25.2-volt lithium-ion battery provides up to 55 minutes of constant power
- Powerful cyclonic technology effectively separates fine particles of dust from the air
- Easy-to-remove dust container (more than 2-cup capacity) with a dual option for dusty emptying
- Ultra-slim, exclusive Delta Head with LED lights allows for easy cleaning in corners and under low furniture with a 180 degree swivel
No cords, no bags, a powerful 25 V battery and a swivel head – it’s almost too much cleaning goodness! Stick vacuums are a great idea, though many can fail in terms of suction power and battery life, so I love that this one has a 25V battery. The swivel head was a really nice change from the rectangular standard I’m used to – it enables me to get into corners and under tables (with an LED light to boot!) which makes me a more efficient cleaner.
You can find the Rowenta Delta Force Extreme Lithium 25V at stores like Bed Bath & Beyond ($279.99), Sears ($249.99 on sale!) and The Bay ($249.99 on sale!) Bonus, it will fit behind the tree perfectly in its box!
One of our readers is going to win a Rowenta Delta Force Extreme Lithium 25V cordless vacuum to help you prepare for holiday guests in your household! Or, save it for gift-giving if you want to play Santa this year, it’s up to you!
The one that stood up to me is not to vacuum up glass, I have done this in the past but I will definitely think twice now especially since I have a bagless model.
I have never thought that sucking up broken glass could damage my vacuum hose. Maybe that is why I have had to replace it twice already? Thanks for the eye opening tip!
I did not think that nut shells etc could harm the belt
I didn’t know that you shouldn’t vacuum up broken glass…I’m guilty of doing that! Oops!!!
The tip that stood out to me is to not vacuum up pine needles which is my vacuum disaster story also. First Christmas after we were married and we had a beautiful Scot Pine and when we removed it there were needles everywhere. I vacuumed them up until there was no suction and that was because my hose was filled with needles. That was a pain getting them out.
I honestly had no idea that sucking up broken glass was a no no but after reading why < I totally get it. I have been pretty lucky up till now as I would vacuum shards of glass up on occasion. This is a great tip. Thank You
The tip that stood out for me was about glass. You know I just vacuumed glass up yesterday. I never thought about the dangers of it.
The one that stood out to my was the tip about not vacuuming up broken glass and ceramics. I thought that is was just common sense not to vacuum up certain stuff.
Nutshells bottle caps and appetizer sticks, never thought about those causing a problem, they are dry. Interesting.
I had a Major Vacuum DIsaster when I was about 11 years old. I was vacuuming my mom’s bedroom before we were to head out on a summer vacation. Mom had carpets with fringe on them and so, of course, when I vacuumed over them the fringe got caught in the vacuum. Did I mention that I wasn’t wearing shoes? Well, I went to kick the fringe out of the vacuum but the fringe came out and my toes kept going. I got my big toe caught in the power head and just yanked it out. I probably should have called my parents and had one of them help me. My big tow nail was cut and gouged up completely. We went to the hospital and the nurse said I was very lucky that I didn’t lose my toe!! On the bright side though, I was the talk of the E.R. that day!
I lov that it can go over ceramics and glass…We tend to lose a few bulbs over the Christmas holiday
I didn’t know that tinsel, gift wrap and ribbon can damage a vacuum if you use a bag, Interesting and good to know!!
I made the mistake of vacuuming up the fallen needles from the Christmas tree. I thought my vacuum would never be right again and it took me forever to pick out all the needles from the hoses and beater brushes.
I always make sure to look under the bed before I start vacuuming under it. I didn’t once and sucked up a sock and it got caught in the rollers and started causing a burning smell.
I learned that nut shells and broken glass aren’t good for a vacuum.
I really didn’t think about not doing broken glass; great tip to share!

Man, I vacuum food off the floor! Just learned that’s a big no no!!

Didn’t know the consequences of using a vacuum on liquid was that bad. Not that I did it, but will know that I have to not do that.
Aren’t they all pretty obvious?! I would never use my vacuum on any of those things, but the food is the most unthinkable – does anyone actually do it?!
I didn’t realize that broken glass would damage a vacuum as much as these tips suggest.
I didn’t realize you shouldn’t suck up food… ooops!
Oops on the food!
No glass! Wow! That’s a surprise!
My hubby does the vacuuming most of the time and he once sucked up a few of the beads we had for our crafts. Along with pieces of string that got trapped around the brush. He now watches carefully what he is doing.

My husband does the vacuuming more often that not and he once sucked up a couple of the dabs we had for our artworks. Alongside bits of string that got caught around the brush. He now watches painstakingly what he doing. http://moodymamasays.com

They all stood out to me, except for the liquid one, I know not to do that..lol but I have always done the others without thinking twice, guess I’m going to have to stop doing what I’m doing.
