I’m going to preface this post by saying that, for the most part, my experience with anything organic and crunchy (not crunchy as in texture but crunchy as in lifestyle) has left me pretty underwhelmed. I am so un-crunchy that I called myself squishy when I had my babies. “Crunchy granola mom? Not me, I’m the squishy mom!” Maybe it was funny only to me, but the point was that I balked at most of the crunchy, au natural and organic offerings on store shelves convinced it was all marketing and that I was just fine with that I had, thankyouverymuch.
However, there are certain diet (as in nutrition, not weight loss) trends that I’ve discovered are worth their weight. I love veggies, take my vitamins (when I remember) and recently discovered that kale is actually pretty delicious and am kind of obsessed with it (see kale soup recipe here, yay!) One area that hasn’t impressed me until now is food supplements. I’ve found them to be gritty, tasteless, and not really formatted for me as a busy mom (but more so happy bunny gym types, whom I don’t relate to one iota). Then, I tried Now for Mothers Healing Mix and my opinion on organic and crunchy nutritional supplements has changed.
Now for Mothers Healing Mix is a post-pregnancy nutritional supplement comprised of ingredients that I can pronounce, nothing artificial or chemically sounding at all. Take a look at the ingredient listing: Organic Flax, Organic Oats, Organic Almonds, Organic Honey, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Wheat, Organic Butter, Organic Walnuts, Organic Pistachios, Organic Brown Sugar, Organic Raisins, Organic Pine Nuts, and Organic Melon Seeds. The product is meant for moms right after birth and for up to six years later (though, to be honest, I’d still like this even after my youngest is 6!)
Your body goes through tremendous change with pregnancy and birth, we all know this, and it takes a while to bounce back and feel like yourself again after. Many books suggest it’s 9 months in and 9 months out for your body to readjust. I think your body (your mind, your spirit) is forever changed (just ask anyone who suddenly goes up a shoe size after pregnancy like I did, nope, they didn’t shrink back down after 9 months!)
With all those benefits, could “tastes good” be added as well? I am telling you, yes it is! I’m not sure what I expected from Now For Mothers Healing Mix but I was pleasantly surprised by what I got.
The taste is nutty, sweet, and more like a delectible topping than a nutritional supplement on my morning cereal. The cereal was great but I was really impressed when I added it to my yogurt and berries a few days ago:
That right there? That’s delicious and nutritious! And it tastes like that well-known no-bake blueberry cheesecake dessert that we all love! You know the one I’m talking about? Except in this case the only thing the same is the blueberries! Plain Greek yogurt replaces the cream cheese and Now For Mothers Healing Mix replaces the graham cracker crust yet it tastes the same! If you’re already a fan of Healing Mix, try it yourself and see. If you haven’t tried Healing Mix yet, I’m really hoping my experience makes you consider it.
I have a friend who is a new mommy to a set of adorable twin boys, and beyond picking up a coffee and donut before our next visit, I’m going to grab a pouch of Healing Mix for her because I honestly, 100% think this is a great nutritional supplement and worth sharing with other moms.
You can buy Now For Mothers Healing Mix online here or you can look for it nationwide in Canada at stores like Superstore, Loblaws, and Extra Foods.
Im going to have to try this! Sounds amazing! I wish i had something like this three years ago after i had my daughter.
I know – but the good news is that it’s beneficial for the first 6 years after you’ve had a baby so there’s still plenty of time to get the benefits!
Hmmmm, something new for me to try out, it looks really good on the yogurt!! my daughter should really look into this as well!!
I’m telling you – like a graham cracker crust!
What a great product

I would love to try this. I definitely could use a dose of energy.
I am going to look for this tonight at Superstore. Do you think it would likely be found in the organic section there?
Let me know how you made out on your search Erin!
I couldn’t find it but to be fair I was rushing through the aisles because my kids were in meltdown mode.
I’ll try again this week on my solo shopping trip.
Yay for a food that balances hormones! I love how this is real food and that it has healthy fats and iron! Sounds like I could benefit from this! I’m going to check Superstore and if they don’t have it I’ll request that they order it.
Did you find it? I’m truly impressed by it and find myself reaching for it daily – when it tastes good, it’s easy!
can it be post pregnancy if your youngest is 21 yrs lold lol
I say it counts – your body certainly remembers right? (ugh, LOL!)
Sounds pretty good. I like to snack on yogurt with fruit and granola. I’d try this as sub for granola.
Will have to try this product as it sounds amazing! Wish i knew about it sooner as my daughter is 4 now, but love that it helps for 6 years later.
I can’t imaging it *not* helping after 6 years post-pregnancy but imagine the benefits aren’t as substantial as your body changes and adapts with time, right?
This sounds so jam-packed with nutrition!
