Vichy Capital Soleil Invisible Mist

Vichy Capital Soleil Invisible Mist

It’s sunny, beautiful, gorgeous summer time my friends, and with that of course comes the annual  news about how important sun protection is.

We’ve heard it.

But do we really listen?  I know I am guilty of going out for an event (like a full day at my son’s track and field) without sunscreen on.  Even at thirty-seven, I’ve ignored what I know is the right thing to do.  Why?  Laziness, too busy, who knows.  This has to stop, and I have to start taking better care of my body.  What about you?

Vichy Capital Soleil MistDo you know the difference between UVA and UVB rays?

“The sun is well known for its positive properties, but without adequate protection, it can become a source of danger in the long term, altering DNA and potentially causing skin cancer. UVB RAYS, also known as Burning rays, are mostly responsible for short term impacts, such as tanning and sunburns, and represent 5% of UV rays. On the other hand, UVA RAYS, known as Aging rays, represent 95% of UV rays which penetrate deeply into the skin and can travel through glass. Long UVAs are also
responsible for harmful effects on the skin such as greyish colour, irregular texture and the most unwanted wrinkles and spots, along with allergies.”

“In 2013, Health Canada announced a new monograph for UVA protection disclosure on suncare packaging. Their NEW SEAL OF RECOGNITION communicates which products satisfy the new monograph requirements.

The new monograph states that only formulae with a UVA protection factor that is one third of the UVB protection factor can possess the seal of recognition.
For example: If a product has an SPF of 30, then it must have a UVA PF of 10.

Also, the formula must protect against the long UVA rays reaching a critical wavelength of 370 nm. Given Vichy’s high performing filtering system, all products comply with this new monograph.”

What sets the Capital Soleil Invisible Mist apart from the others on the market?

“Vichy presents the perfect invisible mist with absolutely NO COMPROMISE.

First, it has HIGH UVA/UVB PROTECTION, Mexoryl XL Technology in an SPF of 30 and the effectiveness of the technology is supported by Health Canada’s UVA seal of recognition.

Second, its COMFORTABLE TEXTURE. The invisible mist is made with ultrafine droplets, the smallest particles Vichy Laboratoires has ever used, making it extremely pleasant on the skin. Within seconds, the skin is dry to the touch and ready to experience the sun.

And lastly, it is perfectly SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN. The no compromise offer: a continuous spray with 0% alcohol along with hydrating properties due to the glycerin present in the formula.”

Vichy, of course, has a large range of sun care products and new Capital Soleil Invisible Mist is available in stores only as recently as April of this year! Look for it wherever you buy your favorite Vichy products at a SRP of $29.95 CDN (155g).

  • I struggled to find sunscreen that I could use on my kids. They both have very sensitive skin and most sunscreens give them a rash or eczema flare ups. Two summers ago I tried the Vichy sunscreen for kids and I haven’t looked back since! This the best product available and I will never use another brand on my kids again!

  • I have fair skin and always try to remember to use sunscreen or products that have an SPF. I did forget one day in Mexico this winter and WOW what pain!

  • I have very sun sensitive skin so i try and remember my sunscreen. I remember to put it on the kids but tend to forget at times on myself. Probably because I haven’t found a good one for my skin type.Tried so many different kinds , will have to try Vichy!

  • I used to go tanning and tanned in my backyard poolside when I was a teenager. I stopped when I became a mom and I try to wear sunscreen as much as I can!

  • I must admit I used to not bother with SPF but since having kids it’s an every day routine for us all!

  • I have very fair skin and thus have always been pretty good with wearing sunscreen. I hate the smell, but know how important it is.

  • I used to work on the beaches at Club Med, I don’t even want to know what kind of damage I’ve done to my skin :S

  • i burn very easily and you think i would learn!!! i always make sure to have my daughter lathered but dont take the time for me. but time for this momma to get my act in gear 🙂

  • I have pale skin and when I was younger I did get a few sunburns but mostly I have been careful and use very high SPF.

  • In my teens I was a sun goddess, but now that I’m on meds that make you sun sensitive I try to remember to use sunscreen.

  • I burn very easily and have had several bouts with heat/sun stroke, so I wear sunscreen, a hat and use an umbrella.

  • I have never been one to lay out in the sun, but I had a spot of skin cancer removed from my neck just the same. I am now very careful about sunscreen.

  • I used to be a sun worshipper in my younger years but got smarter as I got older, I know limit time in the sun and use sunscreen.

  • I must admit I rarely wear sunscreen because I find it messy to apply. I would love to try this product as I might be more consistent in applying sunscreen due to it’s quick application.

  • I had a kidney transplant. 2&1/2 years ago which leaves me. More susceptible to all cancer so I wear sun screen every day and avoid the sun.

  • When I was a teenager I don’t think sunscreen had been invented. (it was a loooooong time ago) I remember slathering myself in baby oil or sun tan oil and laying out in the sun for hours. I’ve learned my lesson though and don’t let the sun hit my body really between sunscreen and hats etc.

  • My morning moisturizer has spf so I’m always protected but I use sunscreen when I’m in the sun for long periods.

  • I was a sun goddess in my teenage years (ages ago before we were aware of the danger of too much sun), but lately I’ve made it a point to apply sunscreen protection when I venture outdoors.

  • More often than not I use sunscreen when I know I’ll be outdoors, but sometimes I pass when I’m gardening or doing yardwork since dirt and dust stick to the sunscreen, made worse when a lot of physical exertion is involved. Love to find a product where this isn’t a problem. Try to keep these lapses to a minimum.

  • I used to hate the greasy feeling of sunscreen but over the past couple years ive found a few i can use lately.

  • As you I am forgetful but almost more lazy at doing it! I do like to try skin care products so this would be great!

  • I am usually good about putting sunscreen on when the kids and I are going outside. I have had a few bad sunburns in the past so I try to be careful.

  • i am not as careful as i should be! And as a kid, we just didn’t wear sun screen. If i know i am going to be outside all day, i do apply protection.

  • I just watched Dr. Oz yesterday and its the forgetting to use sunscreen on a day to day basis that results in the most damage. I tend to forget and love the ease of a spray on!

  • i try to stay covered in the sun, but it’s sometimes hard to remember to put on sunscreen.a pray on would be much easier!

  • I used to be terrible at remembering sun protection but in the past few years, I’ve become a lot better.

  • I tend to forget to apply sunscreen , I have little samples that I am going to keep in my purse and in the car. So when I do remember I will have it.

  • I would forget sunscreen when I was young and had a few bad burns, but now I’m definitely not a sun goddess and lather on the sunscreen!

  • I am pretty forgetful if I get caught up in whatever I’m doing. Then I end up burnt and feeling dumb!

  • I try really hard to remember but sometimes in the rush of things I forget. I try had to remember to reapply as well.

  • I was always forgetful till I got my tattoos and now i usually pretty faithful at putting lotion on now since I don’t want my tats to fad faster

  • I tend to forget sunscreen, but my wife is the sunscreen police so whenever she’s around, there’s always sunscreen on me and the kids.

  • I have the whole family asking for sunscreen so I try to find one that best suits each member, I like the non alcohol Vichy miss for the younger members or for sensitive skin.

  • I don’t have the luxury of being able to forget to wear sunscreen. I have extremely fair skin, red hair, and freckles. I can burn in 5 minutes of direct sunlight. I always wear at least an SPF 30!

  • I put sunscreen on my face, arms and surrounding areas. I keep it on the bathroom counter so I never forget. I wish I did this when I was younger and before the skin damage.

  • I carry sunscreen with me and I admit, there are times I forget, or just become lazy. You think I should know better.

  • My skin is two colors. White or Red when I burn in the sun. No tan for me 🙁 Summers are tough. Shower & lather up with sun tan lotion then spray with mosquito spray, yuck but necessary. They need to invent a sun tan lotion that is a mosquito spray too 🙂

  • When I was younger (and foolish) I used to tan in the tanning beds.. eeeeee. HORRIBLE, I know.. NOW, I am careful to use sunscreen when I am outside as I do burn easily

  • I have had sun-stroke twice in my life and hopefully will never suffer from it again. I need to be very careful in the sun. I do my outside chores in the early morning or evening. But like most people I get busy and forget about sunscreen until it is to late.

  • I wear sunscreen on my face daily, year round. I had a second degree sunburn on my face when I was 6, plus have other high risk markers for skin cancer (fair skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, etc) so I have to be extremely careful with my face. At the same time, I like the look of a tan so I tend to be too lax about sunscreen for my arms and legs which don’t seem to burn. Now that I have little ones I try much harder to put on my sunscreen – I put it on when I put theirs on. Most of the time…

  • Im not a sun goddess my skin burns it doesnt really tan I need this to protect my extremely white legs

  • I’ve always protected myself from the sun with a combination of hats, coverage from clothes, sun umbrellas, and avoiding the sun at peak times as much as possible. I use sunscreen too but I try to stay covered up. My sister and aunt both have had melanoma and my dad has another form of skin cancer so I have to take care.

  • Every since I had some cancer removed above my eyebrow i make sure I wear sunscreen all the the time.

  • My son is a ginger and hubby and I are near translucent as well. As a family we don’t tan we just go straight to burnt to a crisp. Sun protection is very important. Not even sure this mambo-pamby SPF 30 would be of much use, LOL we always go with the 60

  • When I was younger I never used to burn – now as I get older it seems all I do. I try to remember to use sunscreen whenever possible and I think my days of just basking in the sun are done.

  • Oh my, I was so stupid when I was younger as I spent a lot of time under sunbeds, I thought I was doing a good thing as I always burnt when I went out in the sun 🙁

  • I use sunscreen when I know I am going to be out in the sun for an extended period of time

  • I wanted to tan my pale skin so badly when I was a teen and in my 20’s that now in my 40’s all I do is cover up sunspots and try new products to reduce their colour. All I can say is use sunscreen! I used baby oil.

  • I am forgetful. I try my best to have an SPF in my daily face moisturizer, but when I run out I tend to use non-SPF moisturizer for extended periods of time (until that one runs out). I am pretty horrible at putting it on my body as well, figuring that I will only be out for a few minutes and it turns into an hour, as I usually hate the feeling of body sunscreen, especially in the heat.

  • I try to avoid the Sun because I have sensitive skin. There has been a time or two though when I did forget, and I felt like a french fry because I was so burned.

  • I try not to forget to at least sunscreen my nose, it gets so red and peels. looks aweful. have tried to make a better effort to apply when I go walking
