Kushies

Nursing a baby is hard work. Anything out there that can make it easier…bring it on! A good nursing pillow is a must for mom. The arrival of my new baby boy Johnny is the perfect time to review the Kushies nursing pillow…which has quickly become the stylish accent on our living room recliner!

There are many different styles of nursing pillows out there. The one I used for my first son was very soft and squashy and didn’t work for us. I always felt like my baby was ‘sinking’ away from me.

What sets the Kushies nursing pillow apart from the others is its firmness, something I prefer. It’s a great way to help new moms get into a comfortable position while they are learning to breastfeed, helping to relieve back and shoulder stress. The contoured shape fits nicely around my waist, creating a ‘warm platform’ around me.

The pillow itself is foam, while the 100% cotton flannel cover is easily removed for washing and drying with the rest of your laundry. My pillow is a simple natural colour with tiny dots, which actually blends quite nicely with our living room décor! The pillow is available in assorted pastels and ‘dot’ prints. You can also purchase extra covers as an affordable add-on (or if baby number 1’s pink pillow doesn’t work for baby number 2 who may require blue).
