“When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.”
― J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan
Isn’t that the truth! A baby’s laugh can make even the most tired and frustrated parent laugh (probably a self-preserving mechanism in caveman babies!) We love the sound of babies laughing and as new parents wait for that first little laugh. I remember what made our first child laugh, much to the amusement of my husband and I. It was a metal tab inside an empty soda can tinkling around. Elijah laughed and laughed when we shook it, and of course we laughed and laughed with him. Funny how out of all his infant moments – that one stands out to me almost 9 years later!
I have countless videos of my babies laughing, though thanks to technology my youngest is the only one who has claim to all the laughing videos on my phone! Below is just one that I keep on there, that makes all three of my kids laugh today. Everleigh is now 2 and she thinks the baby in this video is hilarious! 😉
