We’ve definitely had the oddest spring I can remember here in Saskatchewan. Just when we think the sunshine might be coming out to say, we get hit with another snowstorm. A month ago, I wrote on our fridge memo pad, “April showers bring May flowers!” I think I may have to now write something like that for May…surely we’re about a month behind or so on Spring and are in for more rain while Mother Nature figures her issues out!
To that end, when Lume asked me if I’d like to check out their line of boots made of 100% waterproof rubber and -20 comfort rating in the neoprene, I was definitely interested. These are three-season boots. Unlike your typical rubber boots that are only good for spring rain (and only if you wear an extra pair of socks on the colder days!), Lume boots keep toes warm and feet dry.
The (patent pending) pockets on the boots are perfect for kids because we know how much they love to carry around the oddest things with them! Sure, the images on the Lume site show cute little fairies, robots and decorative barrettes, but my kids carry around rocks. They may not look as pretty as a fairy, but they’re important to them! It’s a great idea for kids, for sure.
What I loved is how the tops of the boots don’t stick wide open like regular rubber boots! Have you ever wondered why most rubber boots are made so that water from puddles has a perfect opportunity to splash up and land IN them? It’s always been a puzzler for me. Lume boots fit close to the leg, hugging it, and keep the cold wind, snow, slush and puddle water out. Love.
So where can you find Lume? Well, the answer is online and only online! Lume has taken the unique (but more and more common!) approach of having their products available to customers online only. This enables them to cut out the middle-man retailer and cut costs.
Shipping is free within Continental United States, and there’ s a flat rate fee of $15 to Canada which includes shipping, duty and taxes (I know, I know, us Canadians don’t like $15 shipping charges but maybe that will change as Lume gains more Canadian customers!)
They also have adult boots too! Check out everything Lume at Lume’s website right here!
One of my readers is going to win their choice of Lume Kids Rubber Boots (0-5 yrs)! To enter to win, just use the Rafflecopter form below!
