Two toys kept me quite busy for hours as a single-child growing up. I say I was a single-child, as my brother and sisters were moving out just as I was starting Kindergarten (oh my lucky mom!)
Barbie kept me busy for hours – I had a Barbie Mansion, Camper and various other toys. I’d play in Barbie’s imaginary world quietly and quite contently.
The other toy that kept me busy was one that I coveted, because I couldn’t have it – any type of building blocks! Apparently blocks left everywhere drove my mom crazy so I wasn’t allowed to have them. And so, I’d cherish the time spent at my friends or cousin’s houses playing with blocks.
Seeing brands bring together Barbies and blocks like in the Barbie Mega Blocks Sets takes me back to that time. Perhaps I could have snuck in some blocks had I had one of these sets as a kid!
