As a P&G Mom, I have a great giveaway from Oral-B in honor of oral-health month.  Over the years, our technology in Canada has certainly advanced, and we’re embraced it wholeheartedly.  Or have we?

According to the Third Annual Crest and Oral-B Great Canadian Smile Survey, as of 2011, 72% of Canadians are still using a manual toothbrush!  Even though dental health professionals recommend electric toothbrushes and the facts prove they clean your teeth better.  Hum!  That’s perplexing.

In fact, the Oral-B Professional Deep Sweep Triaction 5000, for example, cleans 100% more plaque than a manual toothbrush, helping to prevent and reverse gingivitis. How? With 40,000 pulsations and 8800 oscillations per minute.  It makes sense that an advanced toothbrush can do more – it’s just about educating people that their manual toothbrush isn’t doing as much as it should!  Other features of this toothbrush include five cleaning modes:  Daily Clean, Deep Clean, Sensitive, Whitening and Massage.  It also comes with a professional timer – every 30 seconds it beeps so that you cover all four quadrants of your mouth (you’d be surprised how long 30 seconds actually is when using the timer).  My favorite feature of this brush is a built in pressure sensor that stops when you’re brushing too hard.  My dentist said I brush too hard (whoops) so this is a great feature to help train me to lighten up – in my brushing anyway. 😉
