We Day is (finally!) coming to Saskatchewan on Wednesday February 27th! This past fall I read about fellow bloggers, moms, attending We Day events across the country and while I wasn’t surprised Saskatchewan wasn’t on the list (often times big events seem to skip over us for some reason!) I still wanted to attend somewhere. So, I was thrilled when I received an email sharing that We Day was coming to Saskatchewan – as many youth and teachers in our province, I’m sure, were as well! I’m so thrilled that We Day is coming to Saskatoon and students across our province can be a part of it.
We Day is not an event where tickets are sold online, in line, or anywhere else for that matter. Students/schools are invited exclusively to be a part of the event after submitting their registration online. More details on how schools can be involved in We Day can be found by clicking on the link! I just read an awesome story about a school in Saskatoon participating in We Day last night and just had to share it with you as well!
I was generously given a Samsung Galaxy III Android smartphone to capture my experience at We Day Saskatchewan and have been thoroughly enjoying this phone over the past few weeks. I received a one-on-one complimentary Learning Session as well (which I dreaded at first and it turned out to be an awesome learning experience!) I’m in a 3-year contract with another service provider and always jump the gun and get a new phone at 2-years which locks me in again with the provider. This year, when my 2-years comes up in July I am not going to get a new phone but instead continue using my Samsung Galaxy III – and then look to find out how much it would take to leave my contact early and switch to Telus instead. Telus has more service options than my current provider AND I love that they are involved in initiatives like We Day (they’re in a five-year Co-Title partnership with We Day!)
(Actually, since 2006, TELUS, its team members and retirees have given more than $3 million dollars in charitable donations and sponsorship funding to Free The Children, including the support of past We Day programs and events. Free The Children is the world’s largest network of children helping children, with more than one million youth in 45 countries involved in their innovative education and development programs. Through its partnership with Free The Children, TELUS is helping to inspire young leaders and build a community of young people dedicated to positive social change!)
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy is much bigger than that on my iPhone 4, yet everything else functions as well (and in some cases better) than my iPhone.
Apps are still all accessible through Google Play, the touch screen is fabulous and the photo quality is so much better than my iPhone! You’ll see when I share my photos from We Day in a few weeks!
I love my new phone so much I figured she (it’s always a she with my devices) deserved a pretty case. Pink, of course!
More information on the Samsung Galaxy III phone can be found on the Telus website ($650 no term contract or currently $49 with a 3-year contract!)
Telus has extended their generosity even further to my own readers! I have in my hot little hands a Samsung Galaxy Ace II X Smartphone to give away to one of my readers!
This smartphone is ideal for a teen or tween in the family or as a phone for someone who wants to try a smartphone and doesn’t want to spend a lot. The Samsung Galaxy Ace II X is affordable at $0 down on a 2-year contract with Telus or for $250 without a contract.
You still have access to over 500,000 applications, games, videos and books through the Google Play store and of course you can use the 5MP camera on the phone and share your photos with fun apps like Instagram already installed!
Fun, right? To enter, just use the Rafflecopter form below!
I can’t wait for We Day February 27th! Make sure you’re following me on Twitter @FeistyFrugal and Instagram as I’ll be taking a bunch of pictures on my Samsung Galaxy III smartphone and sharing them on those platforms!
If you’re reading this after February 27th, rest assured I’ll be uploading all my pictures preparing for a great post sharing my 1st We Day Saskatchewan experiences with Telus!
