Introducing the NEW Mountain Buggy Mini

mountain buggy mini strollerBrand new for 2013, the Mountain Buggy Mini has already been named one of the hottest strollers this year!  Being that I’m already a Mountain Buggy fan, I knew this stroller would likely be amazing – but wondered if this smaller stroller would measure up to the performance of my beloved Mountain Buggy Terrain.

You see, the Mountain Buggy Terrain is what I affectionately call “the monster” because of it’s size (25″ wide) and weight (29 lbs).  But it’s also the mac-daddy of strollers for how functional and comfortable it is to use, and because of that the Mountain Buggy Terrain was my stroller of choice to take all the way to Disney World in Orlando this past December!  I weighed (excuse the pun!) the features of my other strollers (yes, I have a few) and determined the Terrain was what I wanted with us.

Perhaps, had we already had the Mountain Buggy Mini it would have come with us on vacation instead  – but don’t tell my husband that!

You see, the Mountain Buggy Mini (brand new for 2013!) is a smaller version of it’s predecessor.  It’s super-slim at 23″ wide and weighs just 17.5 lbs!

Mountain Buggy MiniI’m really impressed with how this lightweight stroller performs like a full-sized stroller yet because of it’s smaller, compact size it costs loss.  Gone are the days when a lightweight stroller means a rickety ride without all the features we love in the full-sized strollers!

The Mountain Buggy Mini features aerotech tires (a blend of EVA and rubber with a hollow inner for cushioning) and offers features like an adjustable seat position (lays flat for sleeping babes), an extra large sun visor (when planning our trip this eliminated one stroller) and the ability to fold it quickly and easily with one hand (because as parents actually having to hands free for anything is a luxury).

Suitable for newborns up to 4 years, the Mountain Buggy Mini is compatible with the Mountain Buggy Carrycot (so cute!) and is also car seat compatible using their car seat adapters.  Look for the Mountain Buggy Mini in Canada at retailers like Ella and Elliot online (they offer free shipping in Canada on orders over $250).  The Mountain Buggy retails for $379.99 CDN.

  • This looks a stroller we would have liked to take to DisneyWorld too. We chose not to take one in the end which was a HUGE mistake we will not make again…for the cost of what we paid in stroller rental we would have been far better off taking our own with us and paying the extra baggage fee.

    • We have never paid an extra baggage fee for taking stroller with us! We just take it right to the gate and they take it from us then, and then have it waiting for us when we get off the plane. I think it counts as an essential baby item like car seats – no extra fee (when taken right up to the gate anyway.)
