If you’re like me, part of the fun of the holiday season is checking the mailbox every day to see what new holiday greeting may await you! I love sending and receiving Christmas cards and every year I happily display them down the side of my fridge with sticky-tac holding them all in place. Once the holidays are over, what do you do with yours?
I can recycle the cards themselves (scrapbookers tell me they make great accents for pages, with all that glitter and holiday imagery) but the photos are just too cute to toss. Yet, a baby in Santa hat on your fridge in July doesn’t quite work either.
I just purchase mini photo albums from the dollar store and cut down the pictures, as needed, to fit into it. I’ve got a few filled up now over the years and they also include birth announcements and school photos. It’s a great place to organize and keep these photos and it’s fun to look through them as the years go by.
This year’s photo cards are still on my fridge, but once it’s time to take them down this is where they’ll go!
Great idea, Tenille! I am sentimental, and love to keep cards (or rather, I can’t bear to throw them out!) but this way I could leaf through them whenever I’m in a sappy mood. ; )
Fantastic idea. 🙂
what a great idea, your a canadian treasure Tenille!
Ha, and not just because my photo selection rocks right?
Tenille, Thank you, thank you for this simple tip…I really love getting cards, especially ones with photos of my friends’ children whom I don’t get to see often…I have a stack at least half a foot tall and now I know what to do with them, and all those adorable toothless school pics too! Happy Holidays to you and your family. You truly are a Canadian treasure, and not just because your tips rock!
