My husband and I really like our Diaper Genie. I like the fact that it virtually eliminates any smell and that the bag is very easy to change. The refill is very easy to install as well. Its small and it doesnt look like your typical garbage can. My daughter is in a size 4 diaper and we can fit about 4 in before we have to change the bag. I wish that I would have had it when my daughter was a newborn and we were changing diapers more often, it would have been especially useful then. I’m very happy with my new Diaper Genie and I would definately consider it for a baby gift for someone else.

I really like this diaper genie! It did a great job eliminating odours that the diapers would have caused had they been in a garbage can. The Diaper Genie was very easy to use, and the inserts were easy to insert. I will continue to use this, and will be purchasing it in the future for baby shower gifts!

I was given the chance to try out a diaper genie courtesy of Playtex and Feisty Frugal and Fabulous!
I was super excited to try it out, we were taking our dirty diapers to the outside trash can, and now that winter is upon us- I love skipping the trips outside :p
I was impressed at the ease of assembling. I had it all put together in a matter of minutes! I also find it keeps the stink down much better then the diaper pail I had with my first daughter! I also like the fact that my older daughter is now willing to throw out dirty diapers, she likes the step peddle to lift the lid, and quite frankly- so do I! I am usually carrying more than just my baby, so the fact that it is simple to use is a big plus for me!
I am very happy to have been given the chance to try, and think it would make a great baby shower gift… I skipped out on a diaper pail this time around, and now that I have one, it has been a time saver, and much more convienient!

The Diaper Genie is appropriately named. It IS genius! We used to throw our dirty diapers in the trash and every night we have to clear it out of our baby’s room or else it would smell like we have rubbed her dirty diapers all over the carpet. With the diaper genie, it’s super easy to use: dirty diaper in one hand, holding the wiggling baby on the change table with another other, I can still use my foot to open up the genie and throw the diaper in. And when it opens, it’s got this trap that closes the bag and blocks the old diapers that are already in the trash so you don’t get a smell punch in the face.
After I throw the diaper in and let go of the foot pedal, the diaper falls inside and the trap now works again to block the entire bag closed so there’s no smell at all. Now my baby’s room doesn’t smell like dirty diapers anymore, and I no longer have to religiously take out the diaper garbage every night (now it’s every 3-4 days instead).
I mean, really, what mom wouldn’t appreciate one less chore?! Love it! The only down side is I wish it would have come a few rolls of the the
diaper genie bags, or maybe allow you to use some other form of bags so that you don’t have to buy these specific bags for(ever) as long as
you want to use your Diaper Genie. Thank you for the chance to test it!

Having owned the Diaper Genie 2 (non elite) previously, I was not new to this Playtex product. I was excited to receive this item as one of my frustrations with the 2 was having to open the lid with my hands while having myhands full (diaper, baby…etc) The foot pedal is an excellent upgrade from the previous model that makes diaper changing easy.
Other features that I enjoy that both come with: a real no smell garbage pail. At no point do I ever smell even the smelliest of messes. The footprint is realtively small and since its white, it pretty much blends in with an decor. Removing the full baggie full of diapers (it looks like a sausage!) it pretty easy with a built in cutter.
Some things that I found frustrating. The amount of diapers it can hold. I definitly cannot make it through to the next garbage day. It is always overflowing. However I did figure out that if i bundled the diapers really tightly, i could fit much more in. This is easier when baby is new and the diapers are much smaller. but as they get older with bigger diapers you find that you are refilling more often.
Overall I would definitly suggest this to any new parent. Other options aren’t worth the hassle and don’t offer as much ease as the Diaper Genie series. For the extra few dollars I would also do the Diaper Genie Elite II as the pedal really make it nearly perfect!

I have been using the diaper genie for a while now and i have to say that i am very impressed! I have had other similar products and i have to say that there is no comparison! The diaper Genie elite keeps the smells trapped and stored until i can dispose of them on garbage day. Which is awesome as i run a day home and we generate a lot of diapers in a day! Thanks again for the diaper genie elite it has become a permanent fixture in our household!

I love my Playtex Diaper Genie. When I first received it, I had it together in about 5 or 10 mins. Yes that probably seems like a long time and if it was my husband putting it together he could have done it in like 2 mins. But I suck at reading directions and following those pictures that they show you.
With my first son I had an older model one that you had to stick your hand down into to put the diaper in. Not the greatest thing for those overnight diapers that are full and squishy, you know the ones I mean :/ I love the new model that Playtex came out with. Just step on the pedal button thing at the bottom and presto top opens toss in diaper and it has these two big clamp things and just takes that stinky old diaper away. It’s so easy to use even my 3 year old likes tossing in the stinky diapers and other things… Thank goodness the bags are transparent so I can check the contents before throwing out the bag.
So the big question does it help eliminate smell? Yes! Yes it does! The diaper genie is right beside my bed and I can’t smell a thing from it.

I have been using the Diaper Genie Elite for a few weeks now and can honestly say that it works great.. I love how sleek and modern it looks in my daughters room.
The foot pedal is a great feature when my hands are full and it does a fantastic job eliminating dirty diaper odours , instead of my bag them and throw them in the garbage method.

I am speaking from MANY of experience with the diaper genie. I bought the first model 15 years ago. This one required lifting the cover, taking off the lid, pushing the diaper in and putting the cover on and twisting it down and then closing the lid. At the time I thought it was amazing, no smell and convenient!!! It is still great but I ran out of refills for baby #2 13.5 years later and they no longer made this type of refill. I borrowed the Diaper Genie Elite for baby #2 until I received this one. I love it. It is so easy to use, so much more handsfree. It is easy to empty and easy to change the bags. The foot pedal is a wonderful feature as well. As a Mom you only have 2 hands but many times could use 3. This genie allows you to hold the baby, raise the lid with your foot and put the diaper in with your one free hand. I find it also keeps the nasty smell inside, so you can keep it is the bathroom or the bedroom. I will definitely recommend the Diaper Genie Elite to all my friends and family.
