Celebrate the Holidays with Our Finest Products at Walmart

When rushing around to pick up last minute items for the holidays (like me last night at 10pm!) don’t forget the appetizers! We always have one super-mega-big meal at Christmas at my mom’s house, but then the rest of the holidays are spent devouring treats, appetizers and dips. Of course, after Christmas you’ll also need to consider New Years events (at least we keep them a week apart so you can get all the hectic planning over with at once!)

For the first time, I checked out the appetizer selection at Walmart under their Our Finest label.  I’m not sure why I hadn’t until now, except to say that it wasn’t really on my radar.  I make a few of my own favorite appetizers at home and when it comes to frozen, I go to another store that’s well known for their frozen products.  Still, they are more expensive than the grocery store selection, and everyone buys them so it’s not really unique.

Here are a few products that I tried and would suggest picking up for easy appetizer options this holiday season!

Indian Mini Vegetable Samosas ($5) – Intricately folded using traditional dough and filled with the savoury, exotic flavours of India’s favourite delicacy. Includes tamarind sauce.

Brie & Apple Phyllo Cups ($6) – Crispy phyllo cup filled with a delicious cream filling containing brie, cream cheese and cream topped with spiced apple and toasted pecans, sugar and butter.

Cheese Puff Pastry Appetizer Collection ($10) – An irresistible assortment of four savoury French-style puff pastry pleasers, prepared with an array of delicious cheeses and wrapped in a traditional puff pastry that has 144 delectable layers: Cheddar and smoked ham; Cremini mushroom and ricotta; Spinach and feta; and Roasted Red Pepper and Parmesan.

Cheese and Applewood Smoked Bacon Mini Tarts ($5) – A creamy blend of applewood smoked bacon, Swiss cheese and onions, baked in a rich pastry crust.

Cheddar Smokey Bites ($5) – Puff Pastry Appetizers feature smoked cheddar sausages wrapped in a Flaky, puff pastry that bakes up a beautiful golden brown.

There’s a ton of Our Finest products on the shelves (and in the freezers!) at Walmart this holiday season.  I dare you to switch out one or more of these for your usual frozen-appetizer.  Your wallet will be the first to notice, then see if your guests do too!
