When I was a little girl in the 80’s, my neighborhood friend had the coolest house. She had 3 siblings (all mine were grown), her mom had Tupperware cups, her kitchen had carpet, and she had the coolest felt activity boards. Those are honestly the things that stand out most about her house to me – funny the things you remember! Now, 30 years later, I found felt sets for my daughter and grabbed them up quickly – eager to have some play time for myself give her the opportunity to be creative with these sets like I was as a kid.
You can find the felt sets above, and many other themes, from BabaluInc.com and you can shop online! Prices range from $14.95 – $19.95 and they currently only ship within the US.
These are super cute. My son has a similar felt set but much less detailed and he loves it!
We used to have felt sets, love them!
This used to be one of my favourite toys when I was little!
I used to make my own Felt Boards when I was an education major. They are fun!
It is so nice to use non-electronic toys too! So important for balanced learning too!
This reminds me of kindergarten story time. Felt is making a comeback for sure!
I came from the same era and don’t remember these!
Funny what we remember! I remember blue surf marshmallows from the “cool” house.
My son has a felt book sort of like this and he really enjoys it.
we have one of these and they are great
That might be what we are looking for to entertain our kids right before dinner. Thanks
Great toy idea!
these are super cute!
These are so great! I know that my son would LOVE the farm one 😀
These are great. It’s nice to find toys that encourage kids to use their imagination and make up their own stories.
My 6 year old daughter loves these! She has felt boards at school and asked if we could make one for home too!
I love this toy, my kids would have so much fun with it.. Proberly more so then other toys they have.
I love felt boards! I’m hoping to make a Christmas tree felt board for my daughter.
Those are awesome! my children would love playing with them
I finished my Early Childhood Educator course last year and we had to make our own felt stories…pretty cool!
These are so much fun!!
Awesome! Glad there coming back! I loved felt boards when I was younger.
Had a browse around the web page. They have some terrific items that I know my grandsons would enjoy. I really like their Advent calendars.
I always wanted something like this when I was a kid! Very cool!
never had felt toys when i was growing up but i’m sure my little ones would love this!
Throwback time! Thanks for the reminder, these things ARE fun 🙂
I loved using these felts when I was young. These are a far more superior toy than I used.
My daughter would love the fairy set! Too bad they only ship in the US. 🙁
These are really cute! They are silent, educational and indestructible. Pretty much the perfect toy!
My friend had felt set too… but she never wanted to play with them… so I never got too… so jealous. Of course my house was the one with carpet in the kitchen… what were they thinking? YUCK! 4 kids and they bought a house with carpet in the kitchen. Needless to say that didn’t last long.
What a great idea!
I remember these too! I never had one but remember that a friend had something similar. My daughter had a Madelaine one when she was younger. It was such fun playing with! I am sure that Sara liked playing with it too!! lol
I love these! I had plastic ones when I was a kid….
This is something I would have loved when I was a kid! I would love this for my baby girl when she gets older!
I loved playing with felt as a kid, especially cutting it myself. Wish I had something like this when I was little.
I used to love toys like that when I was a kid.
I can see my twins having fun with this.
what a great idea this would keep them busy for sure.
A very interesting idea.
Awesome and entertaining!
Interesting, I’ve never seen anything quite like that. I remember playing with felt stuff kind of like this when I was a kid. Who knew it’s improved so much.
Ive never heard of such thing – very neat indeed!
Seems like very fun!
this would be great for my son.
Neat idea…and a great “quiet time” activity! I’m game! 🙂
how neat…i need to get some of these for my son!
cool ideas, nicely done
Cool Toys
When I was kid my Mom used to buy these for my 2 younger brothers and me, along with colorforms…lol.. because we went on a LOT Of road trips of at least 6 hours, but usually more like 12 or so…this kept us from playing “tennis” in the back seat with my youngest brother’s head 😉
i’ve used these when i was in schoolo 🙂
this is new to me but so awesome
I’ve never heard of these…these would be perfect for traveling in the car…or quiet time play…. my grandies and I visited the site.. the girls seem to like the fairies and ballerinas and the boys the dinosaurs and rescue… the kiddos said they could make up stories and write them down if I got the felt boards for them.. as they said it will make the story more real….LOL and they change it as they go along…. hey if it’s going to encourage them to write and use their imagination instead of glued to video games I’m for it…
My Mom bought my girls a felt Noah’s ark set last Christmas and this year we made our own felt nativity play set
I loved playing with felt at school and my girls love it now. Hours of fun!
I bet your neighbor regretted getting carpet in the kitchen!
My mom had a tonne of felt boards for us as kids to play with growing up, but also to keep us quiet during church. I’m in the process of making some for my kids now too.
My 3 year old LOVES these!!
Felt boards rock! lol I totally remember these in the 80’s, too! 😛
I was a 90’s baby, and I’ve never seen a felt board before :/
I’m going to look into getting these for my step-grandson – much better than crayon or marker on the wall, and oodles better than plastic!
These are awesome! I know that my grandkids and I would have a blast with these!
I LOVE feltboards, they are so fun for the little ones and can be rebuilt a hundred times in a hundred different ways. They are perfect for in the car or taking to grandma’s the little ones always have fun with them
