Disney’s newest princess is making her debut not in theaters but right in your living rooms on Disney Junior!
Sofia The First: Once Upon a Princess introduces us to a little girl named Sofia who becomes a princess when she moves into the royal castle with her mother, who has just married King Roland II. Sofia also gains two step-siblings, Amber and James. How very modern a story, eh?
Soon, Sofia discovers that being a princess is about more than dressing up and living in a castle. She learns that displaying honesty, loyalty, courage, compassion, independence and grace is what makes one truly royal. Ohhhhhh, us moms like that, don’t we?
There are some awesome people starring as the voices of the characters including Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez as Queen Miranda, and Project Runway’s Tim Gunn as Baileywick, the royal steward, among others. Cinderella herself even makes a cameo in this special presentation.
The Sofia The First Series will be on Disney Junior in 2013 but they are celebrating this huge news by sharing a special presentation on Saturday, November 24 at 7pm ET of Sofia The First: Once Upon a Princess.
November 24th also happens to be my oldest princess’s 5th birthday! Coincidence? I think not! 😉
After the birthday party celebrations are done, we will be settling in to watch the premiere on Disney Junior (6pm in Saskatchewan) and I can’t think of a more perfect way to end our special day.
