Layers By Scentsy Giveaway

Have a favorite Scentsy fragrance?  My regular readers know about my Scentsy addiction by now – I have literally dozens upon dozens of Scentsy bars and a few favorites stand out at the top of my head: Vanilla Cream, Grape Granita, Bubblegum, Love Story, Route 66, White Sands, Home Sweet Home…I could go on and on!  There have been many times I’ve had a bar warming and thought to myself, “This would make an amazing perfume,” or, “I’d wrap myself in a blanket smelling like this!”

Who knew that Scentsy was already on the task?

Last year, Scentsy released 5 of customer’s favorite scents in Scentsy Solid Perfume.  I have the Solid Perfume in Love Story and it’s always in my purse.  Always.  It’s perfect for travel too – I don’t want to take a big bottle of perfume (especially when flying and risk it spilling or being taken away because it’s too big in my carry-on).  I love the concept of Solid Perfume and it doesn’t hurt that it’s in one of my favorite Scentsy fragrances!

Now, Scentsy has brought some of their most popular scents into your home in a big way – shower gels and creams, hand lotion, body butter, body spray – all items that you can literally layer one on top of the other from the moment you step into your shower until you walk out the door to start your day.

Great concept, don’t you think?  I’m a beauty-product junkie, so my bathroom closet has a huge selection of products to choose from, though I often have a hard time choosing what to use – if I use a body wash in the shower that smells like coconut, for example, using a perfume with musk notes may not blend very well.  So I often skip the perfume, or skip the scented body wash when I know I’m going to wear my favorite lotion.  With Scentsy layers you can wrap yourself in your favorite scent, none of which are overbearing and heavy, and certainly brand yourself with a signature scent among your friends!

I have the Shower Cream and Hand Cream in Sugar Cookie scent.  At first, I’ll admit it was a little weird lathering up with a product that smells like, well, a nice big container of cake icing!  But the true story is…I began to like it, a lot.  My bottle is more than half gone and I’m going to need more!  The scent lingers nicely on my skin during the day and it’s more of a cocoa butter scent out of the shower.  The hand cream sits permanently in my diaper bag and is perfect for a great burst of scent when out and about during the day.

Something really exciting from the Layers product line are the Washer Whiffs and Dryer Disks – bringing Scentsy right into your laundry room!  Currently available in Coconut Lemongrass and Quiver, both products have been getting great reviews by Scentsy fans so far.  I have both the Washer Whiffs (scented beads that are added to your laundry, with unscented detergent for best results) and Dryer Disks (added to your dryer to add a burst of fragrance and reduce static while tumble drying your clothes) in Quiver.  When using the Washer Whiffs, you can use up to a cap full of the product in your laundry.  I experimented and found for myself, that was far too much and I could scent my laundry quite nicely with just 1/4 of a cap!  I talked to some others who have used the Lemongrass Washer Whiffs and they have said the scent is lighter than Quiver so maybe I would use a whole cap of that one.  Like everything else Scentsy – it’s all about personal preference (one Scentsy bar in your warmer or two?)
