This is my much loved copy of Charlotte’s Web from grade 3! That was, oh…around 1985 or so (thanks to my mom for saving it in a box for me!) I gave it to my son (going into grade 2) to read this summer and he just completed it. I just…sigh…loved talking to him about one of my favorite books from my childhood and sharing that experience with my little boy.
Wordless Wednesday ~ Charlotte’s Web

I loved this book when I was younger as well. I even went and saw the movie several years back. Book was better of course. Thanks for sharing your memories.
Love, love, love Charlotte’s Web! So sweet.
That’s impressive that your 2nd graded read it! I have an old hardcover copy of Alice in Wonderland that I’m waiting to give to my son when he’s ready.
That’s so sweet. I have a couple more years before sharing my favorite books with my daughter. In the meantime, she shares her favorites with me.
That book was such a childhood treasure for me too!
My son just finished his shiny new copy that he got from my mum for his 5th birthday. While we were on vacation at her house last week I showed him my old copy and his eyes lit up. I LOVE sharing my old books with him. We just finished Stuart Little together.
Oh how exciting! I just adore that book!
How great is that! Love that he read the same book you did. I hope you put it away in a box too!;)
Wow! What a treasure! That is so nice your mom kept it for you and that you get to share it with your son. I didn’t have a lot of books as a kid so I find I’m buying more books for my kids than I have room for.
Such a great book for kids!
Awww, that is awesome! My daughter just read it this summer as well!
That’s awesome. Great that you can share your memories with your kids
That is great that you still have that book and were able to pass it down to him.
Also my favorite chilhood book- this post made me smile 🙂
Such a great memory! I’m glad your mom kept it to!
L.O.V.E. Charlotte’s Web! My daughter read it in school last year and I too loved talking with her about it. We have the old movie on vhs and we used to watch it all the time when the kids were little. I need to dig it out!
when my daughter was just about one I read her my copy of it. I’ll have to read it again soon.
That is simply awesome. Fantastic book. Awesome that you kept it. And awesome that you are sharing it with your son.
My Makenna is going into 2nd grade and read Charlottes Web for class last year. She just loved it and I enjoyed listening to her read it to me. We’ve also shared some of my Beverly Cleary favorites and now we’re on to old TV shows I used to watch. Love that we get to share our childhood with our kids.
That is just a sweet story. How wonderful that your mom saved it for you and that you are now sharing it with your son. I hope he cherishes it as much as you did.
I love Charlotte’s Web and reading. I can’t wait to share books with my son!
