Sesame Street: Ready, Set, Grover! for DS and Wii

Launched just this month for Nintendo DS and Wii, Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! is now in stores.  Designed around Sesame Workshop’s “Healthy Habits for Life” initiative which helps young children and their caregivers establish an early foundation of healthy habits that can last a lifetime, Sesame Street: Ready, Set, Grover! reinforces that message through gameplay that teaches kids both in the living room and on the go. Through adventures with favorite Sesame Street characters like Elmo and Abby, the game promotes physical activity, good nutrition, personal hygiene, and the importance of rest and relaxation.

The game also features a “Parent’s Page” where parents can review games their child has played, and review curriculum goals.  Parents can also customize up to three profiles, set limits for number of games played and more!

Nevaeh, turning 4 in a few months, was so excited to get her own Nintendo DS game to review.  She uses her older brothers old Nintendo DS (my son, the gamer, upgraded!) and for the most part plays his games with the exception of a few that we have just for her.  This adorable game uses some of her favorite Sesame Street characters (Grover, Elmo, and Abby Cadaby) to teach while she plays.

The Nintendo DS version we have includes a Grover Jumbo Click Stylus making it easy for little hands to use.  I like that this game isn’t loud, with lots of flashing scenes, but rather gently helps your preschooler learn all in the context of play.
