The Canada Day long weekend is here, and it seems like almost everyone I know is either gone camping or at least visiting a beach at some point this weekend. We’re hopefully going to take Everleigh to the beach for the first time this weekend, and of course enjoy some great outdoor BBQ dishes (that’s what summer is all about!)
Earlier this week, we hosted a BBQ to say goodbye to a classmate of Elijah’s that will be moving away this summer.
Thanks to Mom Central and Wonder+ SimplyFree I had everything I needed to host a BBQ, including serving trays, napkins (which I forgot to take the wrapping off in the photo, gah!) and even a salad bowl among other items.
Truth be told, even if I was not provided with Wonder+ SimplyFree products, I’d have purchased them anyway – a burger or hot dog isn’t as good on other buns.
In an effort to keep things simple, I just made home made burgers (I haven’t found a pre-made brand that I love) and a side salad. I decided to try a new recipe and made a delicious Asian Noodle Salad! I got the original recipe from Kathy’s Kitchen and just adjusted it a bit (omitted peanuts because of a nut allergy and omitted bean sprouts because of salmonella paranoia!) I doubled this recipe for our group which consisted of 5 adults (I didn’t count the kids since they were all about the burgers!)
Asian Noodle Salad
1 bag coleslaw
1 pkg ramen noodles + seasoning (I used chicken)
1 cup sliced mushrooms
3 green onions, sliced
2 cups snow peas, sliced
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar

I am participating in the WONDER+ SimplyFree program by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Weston Bakeries. I received a gift card, BBQ kit and free product coupons as a thank you for my participation. The opinions on this blog are my own.
Thanks for the link! Hope you liked the recipe.
You’re welcome! It was awesome, probably would be very yummy with the peanuts too…I miss peanuts.
Happy Canada Day to you! That salad looks pretty yummy!
mmmmmm! I love Asian Noodle Salads! Thanks for the recipe
