On May 6th Disney Junior launched in Canada, replacing Playhouse Disney! This channel has been a constant in our home since we switched service providers specifically to get it (yes, we sure did…I couldn’t believe our old one, Shaw, didn’t have it!) We even have Disney Junior on Demand so the kids can watch their favorite shows anytime of the day.
Favorite Disney Junior shows in our household include Special Agent Oso, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake and Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, though quite honestly the kids are happy to watch whatever is on Disney Junior. Did you know that Franny’s Feet, The Secret World of Benjamin Bear and Stella and Sam are all Canadian original series?! How cool is that, to have them included among Disney favorites, go Canada!
The newest show on Disney Junior is Jack and the Never Land Pirates, sure to capture the interest of any pirate fan out there! Described as an interactive treasure hunt, kids join kid-pirates Jake, Izzy and Cubby along with two familiar Never Land characters Captain Hook and Smee (from the classic Peter Pan) who try to foil the treasure hunt every time. If you haven’t checked out the mini-site on DisneyJunior.ca all about Jake and the Never Land Pirates, show it to the kids the next time they are on the computer – you’ll find games, coloring pages, videos and more. Now, I’m just waiting for Jake and the Never Land Pirates to be added to the On Demand schedule (not all shows are available On Demand just yet) so the kids can watch it more often. Currently, Canadians can catch it on weekend mornings at 9:30 am ET.
