Discovery Toys

Anytime I’m given the opportunity to check out something new from Discovery Toys, I’m game!  I like checking out the home parties when someone I know hosts them, but also often check out the website or catalog to see what’s new.  Recently, Winnipeg based consultant Melissa Ives contacted me and suggested reviewing some Discovery Toys items this spring.

Since I have items for the older kids already, I opted to check out some Discovery Toys items for infants this time.

I’ve had my eye on Chiming Charlie for awhile, probably because I’ve seen him in so many  nurseries or among the toy baskets of my friends.

Chiming Charlie helps boost visual and listening skills with his 8 multi-textured, colorful legs and chime sound.

Little ones love stimulating colors and anything that is interesting to the touch – Chiming Charlie is the perfect combo for them.

Chiming Charlie is $18.95 Canadian and can be purchased directly from the Discovery Toys website.

Although it looks rather odd, the Super Yummy from Discovery Toys is a teether for infants.

With 5 uniquely textured ends on it and a yummy vanilla scent, this teether seems like a winner!

It’s $12.50 Canadian on the Discovery Toys website.

The third item for infants that I wanted to check out from Discovery Toys was the Peek-A-Boo Photo Cube.

Out of the 3 items this is the one that I think can be the most useful for infants right from birth.  Studies suggest that infants particularly like high-contrast images and black/white images seem to capture their attention.

Great all on its own, the Peek-A-Boo Cube gets even better when you slip in 4 photos in the pockets provided. This helps baby focus on and recognize faces as she grows, since they are part of one of her favorite toys.  I think this toy has it all and is a great idea for gift giving.
