Recently we were given the opportunity to review a new game from Mega Brands, Mega Bloks Domino Build, courtesy of Team Mom! I love playing dominoes so I thought it was great to share an introductory version of this game with my 3 year old.
The game itself is very basic – the goal is to build your Mega Bloks animal, and the way you gain the blocks is by making matches with the domino cards. Nevaeh was excited each time she made a match and with receiving a Mega Blok as a reward each time. The game goes by really quickly. After we played 2 rounds, I showed Nevaeh how she could make a train with her dominoes simply by matching them up – I figured it was a good way to get her to practice making matches with the dominoes cards, and it was also something she could do independently.
The game is for ages 3-6 but I think it’s best for children around age 3 – older kids are already experienced in matching pairs but may be convinced to play the game with their younger sisters if mom asks nicely enough. 😉
