My kids are fans of PBS Kids, and we were sent 3 of the latest releases (July 20th) from them to check out for ourselves. It couldn’t have come at a better time, since we were just on our way on yet another 4.5 hr road trip.
Super WHY! : Attack of the Eraser
has 4 episodes on it total. If you’re not familiar with Super Why, it’s a great show that helps teach children letters, spelling, and reading. Elijah has been a Super Why fan for a few years now (I even hunted down Super Why stickers for him on eBay for Nursery School!) and I think the show is great.
Martha Speaks: Martha Goes to School
is a newcomer to our household – the kids just started watching Martha Speaks this Spring so I haven’t had the opportunity to see much of it myself. The show is actually based on a book series by author Susan Meddaugh and focuses on talking-dog Martha who helps children learn new words while on their adventures. Martha is pretty clever, she’s got a funny personality (on an episode on tv this morning, she was imagining being a super spy!)
Caillou: Caillou’s Fun Outside!
was a bit hit on our road trip and the kids watched it several times. They’ve recently become big Caillou fans so I knew they’d be most excited about this one. The kids love learning with Caillou, who admittedly isn’t the most patient or well behaved of kids, but he’s sweet and wanting to learn.
All three DVDs come with great extras like printable activities and coloring pages, resources for parents and the Caillou DVD also comes with interactive games as well.
