On Monday, this mama will be on a plane destined for beautiful, sunny and hot Cancun! This trip is definitely perfect for Feisty Frugal & Fabulous me. Feisty because, hello it’s Cancun, Frugal (well, because it’s free!) and Fabulous for every reason imaginable (let’s look at these beautiful poolside beds, shall we?)
When I was asked if I would be interested in a trip to Cancun to check out a beautiful Royal Holidays All-Inclusive Resort would you believe that my mind went to all the reasons why I couldn’t, shouldn’t go? My husband had days off but had picked up some overtime shifts (we could really use the money), my son’s last day of Kindergarten was on Monday (would he be emotionally scarred for life if I missed it?) and of course, the guilt of feeling like I shouldn’t take some time for myself when clearly, my family needed me every day.
Then, I snapped out of it and realized heck yeah I needed some time to myself! I told my husband I’d made the decision to go, left it in his hands whether he’d call my mom and ask her to come up (5 hrs) to babysit or give up the overtime (guess who’s coming to babysit?) and started asking more details about the trip and namingly who else is going? It turns out there will be a small group (4-6) bloggers going (mom and travel-related bloggers) and my fellow Canadian blogger and bestie Amanda from Natural Mommie is going to be there too! It may not be the desert like the gals in Sex And The City 2, but a beautiful Mexican resort with one of my close friends is even better!
I am so excited to see Cancun for the first time (I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta on the west side of Mexico) and to sample the delicious cuisine at the resorts (we’ll be visiting others besides our own) and of course enjoy the all-inclusive beverages. Una margarita por favor? I may check in on the blog (but forgive me if I don’t!) but we’re going to try to Tweet and post on our Facebook Fan…ur…”Like” pages to share the experience! The really cool thing? I wake up staring out at the beautiful beach and ocean in Cancun July 1st, and land back in Canada to celebrate Canada Day with my family!
