Once you have a little girl, princesses invade your world. Everything is princess themed which isn’t necessary a bad thing if you keep your little princess in check! Honestly though, I love the whole princess idea (we just bought our daughter a sleigh bed yesterday which we called a princess bed…convinced her immediately that it was awesome). Now, even Strawberry Shortcake is a princess! It’s interesting how she has changed since the 80’s…somehow the cute cherub looking Strawberry Shortcake of the 80’s wouldn’t have looked quite right as a princess.
When it comes down to it, we know princesses are appealing to young girls so Strawberry Shortcake being a princess is extra special. In Strawberry Shortcake: The Berryfest Princess Movie, being released March 2nd, Strawberry Shortcake and friends are busy preparing for the annual Spring festival. Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom are the finalists in the Berryfest Princess Election and must work together to make the festival a success. Children learn early lessons on teamwork and compromise, even if they don’t have a clue what those words mean (like my 2 year old for example…sharing, what’s that?!)
