Celebrating their 5 year anniversary in the business, Squidfire founders Jean-Baptist Regnard and Kevin Sherry earned their stripes selling their t-shirts out of the back of a Cadillac. Today, the duo enjoy the success of Squidfire through their own boutique and have launched more products including bags, accessories and even shirts for babies.
Squidfire sent us 3 of their kids t-shirts to check out. The kid’s t-shirts range in size from x-small (2-4 years) up to medium (10-12 years). Since my son is 5, I opted for the size small which ranges from (6-8 years). The two shirts for my son were big the first time he wore them, but not so much that they looked too big. So, for a 5 year old wearing a shirt sized for 6-8 year olds, I think it’s safe to say these shirts fit quite small so order a size up.
The two boy’s shirts we received are definite little boy classics – dinosaurs and dragons are always appealing! When I showed my little guy the shirts he was excited about both of them and eager to wear the dragon one first.
You know what I really like about the shirts from Squidfire? Even though the guys aren’t selling their product out of the back of a Cadillac anymore, they haven’t gone all ’boutiquey’ (I know it’s not a word but for me it is) on us with their prices; kids t-shirts and baby onesies are $15.00. Sooner or later someone’s going to inform them that they can sell their shirts for double that so if you’re interested, grab one before that happens. Order online (Canadians if you’re having trouble simply email the owners and they can guide you through, sometimes the site is troublesome for Canadian orders, they say.)
