J.R. Watkins

I was talking to a friend about this yesterday, actually. There are so many great companies emerging (or just being brought to mainstream attention) that are promoting, producing and educating us all on natural beauty products. It’s enough to make your head spin – it’s like learning a new language when you begin to understand what is worth living without and worth ensuring your product contains. If you are passionate about natural products, the world is your oyster. If you are like me, and are curious to try them out but not ready to clean out your beauty closet just yet, companies that are familiar are an easy place to look.

I checked out the Lip Tints recently from J.R. Waktins and since I have all 4 of the colors available, there’s one to be found whenever I need it. The size enables these lip tints to easily slip into pockets, a diaper bag pocket, or my makeup bag.Available in Berry Charming, Tickled Pink, Strike-A-Rose and Simply Maeve-lous, (which was awarded Best Lip Tint in the 2009 Beauty With A Conscience Awards, who knew they had such a thing?) all four lip tints are naturally flavored with pure peppermint oil. I liked all these lip tints because they each gave my lips a little bit of moisture while adding a bit of color. I don’t wear lipstick, it’s always gloss or tints, so I like when a lip tint has a decent amount of shine as well. Simply Mauve-lous was my fave too. 😉

J.R. Watkins also sent me their Lavender Hand and Body lotion and Lavender Body Oil. I tried the Body Oil first – a few drops are recommended in your bath water or for use after bathing. I decided to try it out after my shower instead of my usual body lotion. It went on way easier than body lotion, being an oil, and did of course take longer to dry. My skin, however, thanked me.

I wouldn’t use this every day but I think it would be fabulous for alligator skin on my legs in the summer.

The Lavender Hand and Body Lotion is a product I would get more use out of, as a daily moisturizer.

Make sure you love the scent of lavender though because J.R. Watkins uses a combination of 10 natural oils in this product (including apricot, avocado and jojoba) making it quite aromatic!

If you would like to try J.R. Watkins lotions, one that I would recommend highly is the Lemon Cream Hand and Body Lotion! I received it last year to review and just love it.
