WELL! Scentsy sells wickless candles and home fragrance products. Wickless candles are really the paraffin wax Scentsy bars and Scentsy bricks that the company manufactures. Combining these products with a Scentsy warmer allows you to disperse scents into the air, much like you would with a candle, without a flame. This makes Scentsy the safer alternative to regular candles.
Now, I am admittedly a huge candle fan. I love the glow, the flickering flame, the ambiance that is created. I also, of course, love the various candle scents. I’m always looking for candles with a strong scent output and this can sometimes be a challenge. The other issue, of course, is the danger posed by a flame with children around. I love my candles but don’t burn them nearly as often as I’d like and forget pillar candles altogether.
My friend’s dad is a firefighter and is adamantly against having candles in households – just last week he sent his 4 adult children an email asking them to avoid candles this holiday season because of a house fire in the city just the day before, caused by a candle left unattended. My friend follows her dad’s advice and doesn’t burn candles, but I know she would love Scentsy! Interestingly, my brother in law is a firefighter too and they don’t have candles in their household either.
If you know someone like my family members and friends who don’t burn candles, Scentsy would make a great gift or just a new product suggestion. I do burn candles, yet after trying Scentsy products this past week I am loving the concept and the company and will be ordering more Scentsy bars – I actually emailed the public relations rep to ask how to do that (you need to find a consultant in your area).
Scentsy sent me the Snowflake Red Ceramic Warmer as well as 3 Scentsy Bars from the Holiday Collection. I tried Green Tea & Cactus, Cranberry Spice and Winter Wonderland. Of the 3, Winter Wonderland is my favorite – it’s a minty crisp scent that makes the room smell so clean and fresh and…well…wintery! Each Scentsy Bar has 6 blocks in it, and I’ve been melting 2 at a time. The cool thing is how you switch out your scents – when the wax is melted you just pour it back into the container, wipe out the warmer, and pop in new blocks. I have used the same 2 Winter Wonderland pieces of my bar all this week and they smell just as strong as the first time. The scent throw is fantastic. Our house is listed and before a showing this week I had my Scentsy warmer on to throw a nice fresh scent into the air.
Scentsy Bars are $6.00 CDN, which is less than most candles (with tons more scent throw). There are pages of Scentsy Bars to choose from in the catalog, and just as many Scentsy warmers available as well. Since Scentsy is so new to Canada, there’s an excellent opportunity for starting your own home business with Scentsy at a ground level – if you do, let me know so I can purchase from you!1 Canadian reader is going to win a Scentsy Snowflake Warmer and 3 Scentsy Bars. To enter, check out the Scentsy Catalog (pages 25-30) and leave me a comment here telling me which 3 Scentsy Bars you think would smell amazing.
