K'NEX

We recently had the opportunity to check out K’NEX for the first time in our household. I don’t know what has taken us so long! My son is a huge LEGO fan so we stuck with that, but I had no idea that K’NEX products are actually compatible with LEGO. I was hesitant to buy a ‘new’ set thinking it would be one or the other but now that I know they can work together….oh my are we in trouble!

We were sent 2 K’NEX products from Team Mom to check out that were perfect for my children. The first set we received was the Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection Police Car Buildling Set featuring Elmo! This set couldn’t have been more perfect, considering we are a law enforcement family and my daughter loves Elmo! For children ages 2-5, the 19 large pieces were easy for my 2 year old to handle and she was so proud of herself for putting the car together (with the help of her big brother). She quite enjoys taking it apart too.

The second product we were sent from K’NEX was perfect for my 5 year old son. We received the 400 Piece Value Tub which is perfect for getting started building with K’NEX. My son is starting to build creatively on his own but he really loves having instructions to follow, so we were happy to see that this set comes with instructions and ideas for 20 models (a great start!)

I was a little intimidated by this set at first, because it’s not the usual square blocks we’re used to and seemed too complicated for my son. However, although the box states that it’s recommended for children 7+, my son has a blast with it. I’m sure as he gets older and checks out the other amazing sets available from K’NEX, his creativity will really flourish.K’NEX construction sets are great for children who love to build and create – with or without instructions. The Neighborhood Collections are suitable for children as young as 2 years old so you can introduce K’NEX products early. There are other great Sesame Street products from K’NEX too.
