Changing the meaning of Desperate Housewives forever…

I remember when ABC was running promos on the debut of a new series called Desperate Housewives – I knew it was a show I just had to see, and it turned out to be a huge success. Later this month Desperate Housewives will begin its 6th season.

On September 1st, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released Desperate Housewives The Complete Fifth Season on DVD. In the first episode of season 5 “You’re Gonna Love Me Tomorrow”, viewers were surprised to learn that the show carried forward 5 years. Susan and Mike are divorced and the father of a 5 year old, Gabrielle is a mom of 2 who has completely let herself go, Bree is a successful caterer and set to release her first cookbook, Lynette is dealing with her out-of-control teenage twins and husband Tom who is suffering a midlife crisis, and Edie returns to Wisteria Lane with her new husband Dave. It is this new resident on Wisteria Lane that holds the key to the central plot for the season – who is Dave Williams and what is his beef?

Bonus Features include:
• Teri & Cherry – A look at Wisteria Lane’s dynamic duo!

• Desperate Housewives: Evolution of a modern classic

• Cherry-Picked: Marc Cherry’s Favorite Moments from Season 5
• Deleted Scenes
• Bloopers

• Audio Commentaries

The last episode of Season 5, “If It’s Only In Your Head”, leaves viewers wondering…who is Mike’s bride that he’s kissing at the alter? Is it Susan who he kissed in this last episode or is it Katherine who he proposed to earlier in the season? Desperate Housewives Season 6 premieres on ABC Sunday, September 27th.
