Canadian mom of 2 Kristina, owner and designer of Bouncing off the Walls, literally made my jaw drop when I opened up the box containing what was supposed to be two small and simple review items – two custom painted Switch Plate covers.
What was I expecting? Well I told Kristina that my daughter was big into puppies and kitties right now and my son was a huge Lego fan. She was certain she could make something perfect for each of them. I couldn’t believe the time, attention, and detail that went into making both of these items.
Notice how the frame around the switch in the animal one has the detail of little white dog bones, and the outer frame has little paw print detail. The Lego one is fantastic, my son’s little friends did the appreciative, “Awwww COOL!” remark too! This is one more little thing we can take with us when we move to a new house to help the kids feel more familiar with their new rooms as well (AS IF I’d leave these behind!)
Kristina’s talent is truly astounding – she even learned how to use a scroll saw and now cuts her own wooden letters! The wall letters – I have to share a photo of the work she does with these. I am very tempted to order wall letters for my daughter’s new room when we move (hopefully sometime this fall or winter) into a new house.
Looking through the photos of the Wall Letters, I have to remind myself that these are not prints, each letter is hand painted with precision and detail – it’s really unbelievable that people have this kind of talent (sadly, I have no artistic ability whatsoever).
I’ve been keeping up with Bouncing Off The Walls on Facebook and what I enjoy about reading Kristina’s posts is how excited she is to share her newest creations with her friends and fans. Facebook is where I first saw Growth Charts like this one – again something perfect for families like ours who will be moving a few more times over the years.
