I am a scent junkie. I love a great scent and I love when it’s left on my skin. My 5 year old son, however, has eczema and perfumed products can really irritate his skin. We’re left to the basics, or so I thought! Skin Free products are all formulated for his special skin type and we were able to review several products that were just for him (he was very happy to find out that all the products were his).
Products we tried included the Extra Moisturizing Soap (perfect for him in the shower, no soap film left to irritate his skin, yay!). This soap was awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance in August/08. Other products we tried were the Super Moisture Body Balm (containing 100% natural butters and oils, no added water or additives) and the After Shower Moisture Spritz which I loved because it’s much easier to spray down a 5 year old after a bath or shower than it is to make him stand still with lotions!
The product that I liked the most, however, was the Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub. It’s nearly impossible to find an unscented and natural sugar scrub yet I knew this was something my son’s skin could really use. Sugar scrubs help get rid of dry itchy skin and leaves skin feeling refreshed. My son had a giggle of a time when we helped him use this product in the shower (it tickles, he said).
