Seventh Generation (closed)

Did you know that Seventh Generation has been around for more than 20 years and was one of the first socially responsible companies out there? Long before eco-friendly and socially responsible were the buzz words that they are today, Seventh Generation was working to help consumers make educated choices about the products used in their households. Over the years they have gained a loyal following of customers and I finally had the opportunity to try their products this month.
I checked out several of Seventh Generation’s cleaning products, including the Natural Dish Liquid (my favorite because of the scent: Lavender Floral & Mint!), Toilet Bowl Cleaner (in Emerald Cypress & Fir), Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner (in Free & Clear), and even 100% Recycled Paper Towels. The Toilet Bowl Cleaner made life easier for me – I was able to apply the cleaner to the toilet, and then hop in the shower while it sat on the surface to do it’s job. With regular chemical-filled cleaners there’s no way I could do that because the strong smell would be too overpowering. I didn’t smell the Emerald Cypress & Fir scent but I also didn’t stick my nose in the bowl to check, so the smell of the cleaner is minimal.

I also received Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers and Chlorine Free Baby Wipes. These would be the ideal diapers to use for babies with sensitive skin or when dealing with a horrible diaper rash – you want to be as not irritating and chemical free as possible with raw skin! The wipes did their job like others, but this time without chemicals containing chlorine.

This was a great review for our family because I made a point of only using Seventh Generation products when one of them was available for the task at hand. It felt good using these products, and knowing I could safely use all of them around my family. A little goes a long way, so I have plenty of cleaning products left to last me the summer.
