I am mommy to Elijah – when he was a baby, we thought that maybe once he was a little tyke we would call him Eli as we watched him in T-Ball, etc. It turns out Eli has never suited him; he’s always been Elijah. Maybe one day his buddies will use it as a nickname, who knows! That’s what first attracted me to the Eli’s Lids site – I had to see what product was being marketed under such a cool name! 😉
Kara Noel-Lawson created Eli’s Lids in 2006 after experiencing what many moms of boys do when out shopping for their little guys. Have you noticed how large the clothing sections are for little girls compared to little boys? How many accessories are available for little girls? It’s almost as if I should thank my favorite stores for not putting their clothing for boys in a back closet, for the amount of space usually given to them. Kara saw all the great hats, bows, and other accessories for girls and thought it was time there was more available for hip little boys, and that is how Eli’s Lids was born. The site features hats and shirts for boys, and just recently leg warmers for little girls (Kara now has a daughter as well, a whole new world has opened up!)
We received a brown Snowboarder Lid from Eli’s Lids to try. The Lids come in two sizes – newborn to 1 year and 1 – 5 years. My son is turning 5 this summer and I think the Lid is actually just a bit too small for him, however my daughter is a hat fanatic and has claimed it as her own (she’s 17 months).
The price of the tees on the Eli’s Lids site are fabulous! $12.00 US for a tee shirt is unheard of online and if you’re looking for cool shirts for boys, scoop these ones up fast before Kara realizes how low her prices are in comparison!
I adore this Rock ‘n Roll tee, reminiscent to me of Angus Young don’t you think? <---- If you don't know who that is, please don't say so - I'm not that old! The shirts are only currently available in size 2T and 4T - I'd love to see more sizes available in these shirts (my son would fit a 6T so I'm sad I can't get him this shirt!)
