Giveaways and Reviews

Dirty Bow Wow (closed)

When I read about this review opportunity through the Family Review Network, my first thought was, “What on earth IS this?” As er…interesting as the title is, this is actual a humble little treat of a book about man’s best friend. My (almost!) 18 month old is obsessed with dogs right now so this book was a perfect match for us.

Dirty Bow Wow, by Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz, features 50 dogs, all of different breeds and backgrounds (including dogs found on the street and rescues from Hurricane Katrina) and all featuring the object of the dog’s affection (however odd it may be) in fantastic photos that capture the essence of each dog.

My daughter of course loved each picture and squealed turning the pages to see which “pupeeeee” was next, and my son got a kick out of the great photography and stories about each one. My favorite photo in the book? The Cockapoo of course, because that’s the dog I had for 14 years! (awe, I miss my Mitzy…)

During the month of May, the writers of Dirty Bow Wow have organized a toy drive to help shelter dogs find toys that they can love just as much as the dogs in the book. Click here for a list of participating retailers in the US who are accepting donations for this program.

This is a great coffee-table book, a super book to snuggle with the kids and read together, and also the perfect gift for a dog-parent in your life. =)

The authors of Dirty Bow Wow have set aside 1 extra copy of their book for 1 of my readers to win (US only please). To enter, just tell me about a special dog you have had or had in your life, that’s it!
