Eleven Collection is back this Spring with more funky, fun, and fashionable designs in their childrens shoes. Hey – I’m Feisty Frugal and Fabulous, they’re Funky, Fun, and Fashionable…we’re a good match! I was eager to see what new designs Eleven would come out with this Spring and I know you will be as happy as I was to see that they brought out even more Funk this Spring.

Eleven Collection was so generous and sent me a pair of shoes for each of my kids to review this Spring – that way we could take a look at both the boys and girls lines. From the Boys line, I picked out the Joaquin Sandal for my son who will be 5 this summer. Several features of the sandal appealed to me as a mom.

First, the color (deep brown) is perfect for resisting stains and for matching his summer outfits (khaki colors, deep greens, etc.). The second feature that attracted me to the sandal is the design at the toe – the toe is covered which will save my little guy several scraped toes as well as ensuring a better fit as his feet won’t slide forward and out the front of the shoe – and if you’ve never thought of this happening you’re lucky not to have witnessed a child like my son trip and fall flat on the pavement from his own toes sticking out of a sandal!

Being a leather sandal, the immediate thought is “wow leather is heavy will this be breathable?” and before I did my research on children’s shoes I would have thought the same. Actually, leather is more breathable (and therefore better for your feet) than synthetic fibers which don’t breathe at all. The sole on these shoes, as with all shoes from Eleven Collection, is a flexible rubber sole (ideal for growing feet).

The second pair of shoes we reviewed are the Kasota rose pink trainer shoes! I strayed away from my usual pink and brown addiction (available in the Josie trainer by the way) because I couldn’t resist the look of the rose pink matched with slate in these shoes.

The faux laces on the front are a real bonus, the look of a ‘big girl shoe’ without the hassle of tying laces. Another added touch that is appreciated is the extra cushion (padded collar) around the top and the heel.
