When I had the opportunity to review Martina McBride – Playlist, through the Family Review Network, I took it! I listen to a diverse group of music and have a few country music artists and groups among my favorites. Because I don’t listen to country music that often, I generally find new artists from hits they’ve had on soundtracks (like McBride’s I Love You from Runaway Bride) or hits that crossover to the mainstream music charts. Martina McBride is a country artist who has music that can appeal the mainstream genre as well.
When I popped in the cd, I knew many of the songs which surprised me. Martina McBride is timeless, having been on the music scene since her first release in 1992, so I suppose it’s no surprise that much of her music was familiar.
From the sweet and fun My Baby Loves Me, to the girl-power anthem of This One’s For The Girls to the heart-swelling Independence Day, Martina McBride delivers the best of her career in Playlist.
