I’ve said before that I am so lucky to be doing what I do. I meet so many amazing people and review some equally amazing products. Every so often I come across something that, in my hands, takes my breath away. The portrait I received from Dana did just that.
First, let me tell you about this fabulous artist. On her website, Dana displays some of her earliest artwork. It’s evident that as a little girl, Dana had a love for drawing and this talent grew as she did (me, I’m still in the 4 year old portrait stage that she displays!) Artists are truly remarkable people. My talent is in my writing (or so I hope!) but if I could have one talent it would be that of a sketch artist. It astounds me how someone can take their own hands and create something magnificent to display.
Dana does pencil portraits from photographs and is absolutely remarkable at what she does. Her waiting list is not by accident. Word spreads and people know when they’ve found a treasure. The benefit of ordering via email is that you can submit one or more photographs and Dana can help you decide which would be best.
The photo should be a good size and clear, and the face in the photo should be at least 2 inches of the photo and the whites of the eyes (if open) should be visible. I submitted a few of my favorite photos of my daughter Nevaeh taken outside on an autumn day. I was quite impressed with the crisp photos I managed to get that day and knew I wanted to do something special with them but wasn’t sure of what.
Dana emailed me the final result before spraying it with a clear fixative to prevent smudging and fading, in case I had any details that needed to be changed. I was stunned at the result. Then, when I received the final product, it just blew me away.
I have two beautiful children and now absolutely just have to get a portrait done of my son. There is no way I could have just one of my children captured so beautifully. Dana already has my submitted photos and I am waiting for my turn in her waiting list.
Dana has generously offered 1 Feisty Frugal and Fabulous reader the opportunity to have one 8×10 head and shoulders portrait of a single person done . This is a $100 value!
