Flip Over Holiday Party Fare at Walmart!

This week and next are crazy busy for me, and like many of us it’s likely because I’ve overscheduled with too much enthusiasm for Christmas (can you ever have too much enthusiasm for Christmas, though?) When I’m juggling a bunch of responsibilities and events, I utilize a few sanity saver tactics to get me through.

One tactic is planning ahead and ensuring that I still get the best value for my dollar (one of my life, and blog, mottos!) regardless of being crunched for time. Often, families overspend because they simply fail to plan. I compare flyer prices, only use my coupons for items on sale to start with, and pay attention at the till.

Flipp App One of the newest money-saving apps I’ve downloaded is Flipp. Flipp enables you to compare flyers from your favorite retailers all in one spot. Then, after comparing the sales, you can pick out which items to buy where, “Clipping” them and adding them to your list. Can’t remember where you found saw butter on sale in the flyer? With Flipp you can access that info with a simple swipe. Love love love the ease of this app for families!

Flipp App Walmart FlyerTasked with picking up snack foods and  decor for a gathering with friends this weekend, I used the Flipp App to organize my purchases before heading to Walmart.  This is what my Clippings page looked like – all the items I had chosen from the flyer to purchase, all in one spot. It’s like a shopping list of deals, oh my heart!

Having a visual shopping list was actually helpful – I hope that’s not a sign of age but more so of a busy-mom-syndrome – it was really helpful!  In addition to my goodies found with the help of Flipp, I picked up fruit, crackers and cheese and some meat to make a quick tray.  I’m also kind of obsessed with the holiday themed storage containers and bags and picked up a few of those for a baking exchange next weekend.

You can find the Flipp App on iTunes, and it’s also available for Android devices.

Disclosure – I am a #WalmartmomCA and receive special perks for my participation. All opinions, as always, are my own.
