Every time I go over to my sister’s, my nearly 2-year-old niece comes running down the hallway, arms out & squealing, “Auntie!” It isn’t long after she mutters, “Auntie, uh-wa chick-tures.” For those not well versed in the language of toddler, the translation is simply: “Auntie, I want pictures”. She then highjacks my iPhone and spends and endless amount of time browsing through family photos.
While she is very good at the gestures required for swiping a touch screen, I still can’t help but be a little bit nervous entrusting my phone to a toddler. When presented with the opportunity to try out Ookpix and to create a photo book, I thought it would be the perfect alternative for my niece.
Setting up an account with Ookpix is very simple and allows you get started on your project right away. There are ready to go themes to cover off just about everything including more generic Designer Pick’s and Clean & Simple to the standard Baby, Kids & Family, Vacation & Travel, Wedding& Love, Sports, Pets and Christmas. The process to create the photo book was very simple. From start to finish it took me about an hour, however the most time consuming part was selecting the photos I wanted to use, not in creating the book. The tools and options are very intuitive, making it great even for beginners to create a photo-book with little effort.
Within a week of hitting “click” to order, my beautiful Ookpix photo book arrived! The colours are vibrant and the photos are crisp! Everything is just perfect and I’m so excited for my niece to open this present on Christmas morning!
I love the fact that Ookpix is a Canadian based digital company who pride themselves on offering FREE standard shipping anywhere across the country. Of course if you are in a rush to receive your book, there is always the option to pay a bit of a fee to have it arrive either within two to three days or as fast as next day.
An Ookpix photo book makes a great gift this holiday season for just about anyone from young to old and is perfect for either the hard to buy for people or those that seem to have everything. I can’t help but think my parents or grandparents would absolutely LOVE a photo book with all of their children and grandchildren.
The cost per book varies and is dependent on factors such as the quantity of pages, overall size and type of cover. For example, a hardcover 8×8 book costs just $37.95, whereas the soft-cover version is just $27.95. This great low price combined with free-shipping this makes an Ookpix Photo Book a very budget friendly gift!
If you’re looking for a great gift this holiday season, make it an Ookpix Photo Book. Be sure to note the cut off for free shipping if you need it by December 25th; else be prepared to pay a bit extra to have it arrive on time! Don’t forget, use the promo code FF&F30 to save 30% on your ookpix order until December 10th, 2013!

Just received my 6×6 acrylic and wow- i am so disappointed, it looks so pale as though it was printed on cheap paper without enough ink, and there is a line through the glass.
But wow- i’m impressed with the customer service- have already ordered me another with rush delivery- lets see how this one turns out!
I will have to check this place out. We like doing photo books for grandparents and we’ll be doing one this year for them featuring the kids.
This is such a good gift idea 🙂
I love homemade photobooks, another great gift idea is the personalized jewellery that seems so popular this year.
