The discussion here in our province over the past few days has centered around people’s annoyance at this week being referred to as the last week of summer. Summer doesn’t officially come to an end for another month but with school starting next week it really feels like summer is over. We went out to the beach for what was likely our last beach day of the summer this weekend and the kids hauled a big bag of toys for water and sand fun.
Mattel’s Disney Princess Water Toys were among the toys brought out this summer to the beach, the pool, and the bath tub.
Disney Princess Ariel and Sisters come with 3 in the package, with tops that magically change color when dipped in water and swiveling hips like all mermaids have of course!
Nevaeh liked these because they are the size of her other Disney princess dolls she has so of course they all play together (mermaid tails don’t impede you when playing make believe, you see.)
Disney Princess Swimming Ariel was a big hit for Nevaeh and Ariel has visited the local splash pool and beach, as well as checking out our bath tub at home. She’s a busy mermaid.
With the gentle pressing of the seashell on her waist, Ariel’s tail (fin?) moves and she mimics swimming motions. No, this doesn’t make her actually swim but for pool and bath play this certainly is a fun feature to make the play time more realistic (um, as realistic as mermaids can be!) Swimming Ariel is a permanent resident of our bath tub now.
