Moms, how are you coming along in your back-to-school supplies shopping? I thought I had it all figured out, then discovered that Nevaeh, who is going to preschool two mornings a week, also needs a lunch kit! A lunch kit? She’s there for 2.5 hrs?!? That’s the way it goes, just when you think you’ve got everything you need…something else pops up.
I have to go through the kid’s supply lists one more time next week before school starts and pick up any last minute items. One item that I’ve got taken care of, thanks to Lavish & Lime, is Elijah’s Kid Konserve Stainless Steel containers. We got a set last year and are somehow down to 2 (argh!) and I’m so thankful that Lavish & Lime sent us their NEW colors – Ocean – for school this year.
I love these containers, and this is coming from a mom who uses zip-loc bags for sandwiches and snacks in my kid’s lunch, so this is huge for me to find a container that’s reusable that I love and will continue to use. I’ve just found other containers to be bulky and difficult to pack, but these ones from Kids Konserve are awesome.
Not only do they nest inside your drawer at home, they also easily slip into lunch kits. The lids are fantastic and give you a secure leak-proof seal. Last year I’d send Elijah to school with one container of meat, one of cheese, and one of pickles and we never had pickle juice leaks (oh the sentences I write on here sometimes…pickle juice leaks….)
Foods are kept cool in the stainless steel containers, especially if you prepare items the night before and put it in the fridge overnight! These are not obviously microwave safe so make sure you instruct your little guy or girl before taking them to school. Canadians if these containers look familiar, they were featured in Today’s Parent this month too along with other products from Lavish & Lime.

I have three little ones in school. They love cheese and crackers, I LOVE the Lunch Box Cube. I may of 3 of them. Up front cost is a bit high but over the year I will safe so much more and protect the environment from all those lunch cheese and crackers you just throw away.

I think the Primary Bubbles Reusable Snack Pouch is soooo cute and I would love to have it!
What caught my eye is the pink and white rain hat. Do you know how hard it is to find rain slickers these days? Wal Mart NEVER carries them and I cant find one at Sears or JC Pennys. Slickers with these hats would be awesome!
