Just the other day I was folding our collection of beach towels and thinking about how they are used so much in the summer and how many memories are attached to them. We seem to collect a few new ones each summer, and now thanks to General Mills we can get some new beach towels for free!
This summer, inside specially marked boxes of General Mills cereal, you can find a code to redeem online for your choice of beach towel featuring some of your favorite General Mills characters like Pillsbury Doughboy, Buzz the Bee and more! This promo starts July 15th and I’m sure the towels are going to go fast so keep your eyes open for the specially marked boxes on store shelves. They have implemented a max of 10 towels per household.
Alternatively, you can donate your towel to the Tim Horton Children Foundation.

I love all things grilled in the summer, especially a mix of veggies. and then some goat cheese added in once they’re off the grill!
My favorite summer recipe is a salad with field greens, walnuts, mandarin oranges, bacon bits, mushrooms, and craisins, with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I always seem to add more and more ingredients to it – depends on what I have in the pantry or fridge. Yummy!

My favorite summer recipe is a simple watermelon salad – watermelon, olive oil, salt, and pepper – sounds gross but is absolutely delicious. It’s the perfect side dish for a hot summer day, especially when paired with a nice, juicy hamburger.
My favorite summer recipe is cucumber and onion salad. Just mix sugar and vinegar and pour over sliced cucumber and onion. Very refreshing.

Our family loves a broccoli and cauliflower salad for summer meals…yum

My favourite summer recipe is
Salsa fresca:
1 large can diced tomatoes, drained
1 green pepper, seeded and diced
1 red pepper, seeded and diced
1 onion, diced
2 tbs garlic, minced
a little lemon or lime juice
salt and black pepper (as little or as much as you want)
a bit of cayenne pepper
a bit of chili pepper
Cilantro or parsley to garnish
Mix everything together in a large bowl. The salsa is refreshing, delicious, healthy, and a great accompaniment to burgers, grilled fish and other main dishes…or to dip nachos/tortillas with, of course!

My favorite summer recipe is barbecued Kabobs. I just use whatever veggies I have in the refrigerator (zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, onions etc.) and marinate them in some Italian Dressing before grilling.

ok. So my favourite recipe is definitely broccoli salad. I cut up broccoli into bite sized pieces, cut up a purple onion, throw in a cup of salted sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup of raisins (sultana work well), and then add enough miracle whip (I use the Calorie Wise one) to coat, then salt & pepper to taste. So delicious! And easy to boot!
