Hapari Swimwear

That time of the year is almost upon us, ladies.  Yes, it’s time to start shopping for your summer swimsuit or as I like to call it “ego-crushing-with-florescent-lighting-and-huge-mirrors” time.

Last year, before an impromptu trip to Cancun, I went to a few sporting goods stores in my area in search of a swimsuit to wear on the beach.  I wanted something that didn’t make me look like a mom but also covered me so I still looked my age (and not a minute older, mind you.)

I ended up going home with nothing, because the selection I had to choose from was either a sporty 2 piece made by a brand that also makes jeans and hoodies or an ugly one piece that made me look like a swimming instructor.  I had to take an unplanned trip to a mall 1 hour away to find something to wear.

Had I had more time to plan my trip, I could have planned to shop online for a swimsuit at a number of different sites online that sell awesome swimwear at great prices – one of them being Hapari.

Created by a couple of designer moms who wanted to find hip swimwear that is also flattering, Hapari helps women feel beautiful in a swimsuit rather than nervous and more exposed than they’d like!

My favorite combo for the beach or swimming pool tankinis and boy-shorts or hot-shorts depending on what each company calls them.

I picked a Metro S.O.S. Tankini and then had a choice of bottoms to  match it with.  I, of course, picked the Hot-Shorts to match.  Using the size chart on the site I was able to choose the correct size.  I also found it helpful that most of the pieces have customer reviews – nothing beats hearing from someone else who has purchased the item.

The Metro S.O.S. Tankini has great underwire support, something that is really hard to find in swimwear.  I think the support is further enhanced by the ties at the back so you can ensure that everything is nice and snug (mom tip: tie a knot in this to ensure it doesn’t come loose or your little one doesn’t untie it for you!)  I’m also happy with the length of the Metro S.O.S. Tankini – no exposed tummy to worry about!
