2 New DVD Titles from LeapFrog

Parents and preschoolers alike can celebrate 2011 with the first new LeapFrog productions to hit stores in nearly a year. Lionsgate Home Entertainment and top educational toy maker LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., have teamed up again to release LeapFrog: The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park and LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy this January. The all-new DVDs provide a unique combination of education and fun for kids and also include beneficial bonus features that reinforce the learning such as a parental curriculum, sing-along songs and more. The releases also introduce Scout the puppy, an animated character in the LeapFrog world who made his debut in 2008 and has since become the central character in LeapFrog infant, toddler, and preschool products. LeapFrog: The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park and LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy are in stores now.

We love LeapFrog DVDs in our household.  Elijah, who was reading before he turned 3, absolutely loved his LeapFrog DVDs as a toddler and even now at 6 years old he still watches them from time to time with this sister (his favorite was Leapfrog Talking Words Factory).

Nevaeh is learning her ABCs and is pretty eager to show you her skills when asked, so these DVDs couldn’t have come at a better time.  She has watched Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park at least 10 times in the week or so we have had these DVDs (numbers, she seems to have down pat).  I don’t know what it is about these DVDs that have children so engaged but mine love them and I really do think they help strengthen their skills.  However, I think the skills need to be built primarily with mom and dad first, and these DVDs should be used as a bonus, not the teacher. 😉
