Bloom Fresco

I have been on the look out for a new highchair with baby #3 on the way this spring.  My old highchair lasted through 2 babies and then the padding ended up getting all torn, and the underside of the padding was all stained from food (beyond what my washing machine could conquer).  So, in the past 9 months or so we’ve been using a highchair more suited for toddlers for Nevaeh and it’s been perfect.  However, it’s not at all ideal for an infant because it only has one position – upright.  When I first saw the Bloom Fresco chair above, I loved the look of it but thought it was exactly like the other brand I currently use.  Boy was I wrong!  This is PERFECT for our new baby and here’s why…

The Bloom Fresco can be used right from birth as a resting cradle in any room of the house.  It’s height adjustable so I love that baby can be placed in the Bloom Fresco by the table when I’m in the kitchen cooking or while the rest of the family eats.

Then, the chair can be lowered to sit by the couch in the evenings as needed. Note that the seating pad can be your choice of color (Bloom Fresco color options) so that if you really want a girly-color there’s no need to buy a whole new high chair for the next baby, just switch out the pad which can be purchased separately.  I picked gala green, having no idea what we’re having – I figured it was a modern, neutral, color.

Fully reclined, the baby is nestled in a cocoon that also includes an adjustable 5-point safety harness for added security.  Other features of the Bloom Fresco can be viewed here!

As baby grows and is ready for solid food around 6 months, the chair can be repositioned to a more comfortable seating position.  With multiple positions for the chair, it doesn’t have to be as upright as in the photo above – you can still have baby slightly tilted back if needed.  The 3-position feeding tray can be used as needed and of course the bigger baby gets the more he will want to pick up food on his own, so the tray will come into use more often then.

Usually, that’s where the usefulness of highchairs end – once solid foods are established and toddlerhood is over, it’s time to move on to purchasing another chair – a toddler booster seat.  Since we have a bar-height table in our kitchen, a booster seat wasn’t useful there and that’s why I love chairs like the Bloom Fresco that not only are height adjustable to comfortably be placed at that table height, but also don’t look like a baby-ish high chair in the kitchen.  Talk about versatility!  The Bloom Fresco can be used on a newborn all the way up to a child that is 79 pounds!
