Oh how we love the Nintendo DS in our household – my son Elijah loves gaming on it and it’s a great currency for mom and dad to ensure that behavior is kept in check (aren’t we awful? LOL) Elijah has his definite favorite games but is also always eager to check out new games, especially during the holiday season when we will be taking long car trips.
Cosmic Chaos is a role-playing adventure game specifically developed for children in grades 4-7. In the game, the player is challenged to save their beloved dog Hugo from the evil Dr.Z by completing challenges and missions. Along the way, children build their own vocabulary and reading skills too (gotta love that!)
Another learning tool cleverly disguised as a Nintendo DS game is the award winning My Reading Tutor. This game features 14 completely illustrated storybooks that children can read at their own pace. Through interactive games, quizzes and puzzles, children learn to master 8 levels. Fun options include the ability for children to even record their own stories as they go. Perfect for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
