My Fabulous Life

Huddle for Haiti

I’m so happy to share the launch of an amazing aid mission to Haiti, the brainchild of my friend Tammy Robert, executive producer of the John Gormley Live radio talk show here in Saskatchewan.  After her own trip to Haiti last year, Tammy was profoundly affected and says it changed her life forever.  She was determined to return and make a difference, and this woman has more strength and courage than most of us so I knew she would do it.  What I didn’t realize is how profound her plan was and the result is Huddle for Haiti.

Eight players from the Canadian Football League Players Association will spend 10 days in Haiti during the anniversary of the country’s devastating earthquake, putting a spotlight on reconstruction and rehabilitation projects, including a visit to an Oxfam program.

The aid mission is a joint project involving the CFL Players’ Association, Oxfam Canada and WestJet, and includes Eskimos offensive linemen Kelly Bates and Aaron Fiacconi and fullback Graeme Bell. Yvenson Bernard and Chris Cvetkovic, both of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, as well as Obed Cetout of Saskatchewan and Jason Jimenez of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will also be part of a mission.
