Ramona (King) is a little girl with a very big imagination and a nose for mischief. Her playful antics keep everyone in her loving family on their toes, including her older sister Beezus (Gomez), who’s just trying to survive her first year of high school. Through all the ups and downs of childhood, Ramona and Beezus learn that anything’s possible when you believe in yourself and rely on each other.
Growing up I loved Beverly Cleary books. I remember the first time I got to choose one from our school library. I was given access to the grade 4 and up books in grade 3 and felt so privileged – what can I say I had a love for the written word back then too! I’m so happy that Ramona (and Beezus) have been brought to the big (and small) screen. I hope that my own daughter will learn to love Ramona as I did.
